***How-To*** Install Valve Springs & Valve Stem Seals
#52
Re: (wildoutwhitegsr)
sorry to bring this back, but i just did my valve seals 2 days ago and when i put compressed air into the cylinder and removed the valve seals, i saw air bubbles escaping from some of the valve guides on the intake side. does this mean those intake valves are bad?? also when i put compressed air into cylinder 2 and i blocked the top of cylinder 3 i could feel air building up on that cylinder and when i let go i felt the air come out? what could this mean??

Re: (solid gsr)
hmmm...
question.
i just re-built my head with itr cams/springs/retainers but u have a few q`s
my stem seals were ALL the same colour ?!?!?! how do i know which stem should have gone to which valve? (it was a b16a2 head)
also on my itr dual valve springs is the top the section that is coloured ? or is that the bottom? will it make a diffrance if they are installed upside down?
help

It's a Snap-On valve spring compressor tool.
sweet write-up, although I hope I don't have to do this to my car, at least not while it's still my daily driver.

Good, except you dont mention how WE ARE SUPPOSEDTO GET TDC FOR EACH CYLINDER with the camshafts off. So, we are supposed to reinstall the cams, holders, timing belt, then rotate it, then do that 3 times ? that doesnt seem practical
EDIT: I just realized the valves will all be closed without cams installed.
