Default Whose catch can do you use?

Hey guys I am interested in purchasing a catch can as I have all my block fittings and hoses done. I am just wondering which one you guys run as I am having trouble finding some. I do not want to use mountain dew cans, seafoam bottles, heineken keg cans ect...

It must be a vented design and have the filter on top. I need atleast 2 ports going in. I have only found the z10 one. I know moroso makes one but which one? They have like 80 different styles.

Thanks!

What does moroso consider the catch cans to be?

Also how come the endyn would spit oil out?

I LOVE the setup you have. I am guessing thats custom?

Catch cans will generally have 1 or 2 inlet fittings and a filter on top, with a drain on the bottom. I think the Endyn one picks up oil when there's a lot of crankcase pressure and it's just not big enough to hold what it picks up during a pull, so it overflows. My new one is dry as a bone after a pass.

so why does yours stay dry as bone...but the endyn fills up? is it because you have so many vetilation lines? do you run a drainback?

Because the endyn one is not big enough for a high hp car with a little blow by. Ask people drag racing with the endyn can if they have problems with it filling up feeding off the back of the block there.

so if you get a bigger can.....it wont overfill, but does this just apply to people with the drainback feaure? what if you arent using the drainback feature?

People don't use the drainback because they don't want that fuel contaminated oil going back into their oil system. That's why it overfills so much.

Most high hp cars will fill the endyn catch can during a 1/4 mile pass at the track, that's with the drain back hooked up. The problem is that it picks up from oil drain backs on the motor, and under acceleration and high hp, it carries oil to the catch can.

For many street cars, say under 400hp, using the endyn style catch can with the vents off the valvecover works fine, even without the drainback I hear. That setup should work fine as long as your engine doesn't have excessive leakdown.

Tony, where does the two lines at the bottom of your catch can connect to?

How do you drain this setup? Do you have a fitting on the bottom that is not visible in the pics? If so where does it drain to?

I dont understand if the endyn one fills with oil, but yours is dry as a bone and neither of the setups are running a drainback, then where does the oil go? Sure the endyn is too small so it overflows, but if you blow 0.25L of oil and the can is 0.2L its gonna overflow, if you have a 2L tank its just gonna have 0.25L of oil in it.. but yours is bone dry?..

Sorry im lost here, nice catch can setup BTW.

I personally use a greddy knock-off.. paid like $30 for it. 2 inlets, and a drain. I just empty it whenever its full.

EDIT: Tony that looks like a BDL TB.. any sticking problems with it? Mine would stick open after wot pulls.. so i went back to stock, someone said the butterfly might not be centered?

That's a BDL T/B, no problems here, on mine or Art's car.

On my catch can, the bottom two lines double as drain backs to the block.

When i say dry as a bone, i mean externally, not internally. The Endyn one was soaked inside and out. lol

I think it has to do with having the additional ports in the front of the valve cover on yours. The more ports you have, the less pressure you'll have. The less pressure you have, the less velocity the air will have, and the less oil it will carry with it.

makes good sense...ive done it like this on a few of them now with no problems....i can imagine with no other vents, and using just the back of the block, it could get nasty.

are your drain backs going to the same pick up points that the endyne uses?
