Default What type of oil in turbo honda??

ive read before that it is not recommend to use 5w-30 oil in a turbo honda but that is what honda recommends.. what does everyone use? 5w, 10w? full synthetic, partial synthetic, non synthetic...

ive been using mobile1 synthetic 5w30 since after breakin period on my new motor.. should i switch to something else?

I'd like to know what everyone is running too, I'm about to change my oil since i'm hitting the 1000 mile point and want to see what everyone is running. I was thinking about going to 10w40 Mobil 1, but really didnt know.

Mobil one is what I used and will continue to use. Last time that my oil pump shattered on the highway. I did not know cause my oil pressure sensor did not have a ground(relocated Endyne) and drove it home. Like a mile without oil pressure

Thanks to Mobil One, when I took the motor apart last week the bearings were in perfect condition.

I give it

The dealership recommends 5w30 for my LS and B20s. Never had a problem with Mobil 5w30

I ran Castrol 10x30 in my last Turbo Gsr, then I switched to Mobil1 10x30 synthetic

On my new car I've used Mobil1 Synthetic 10w30

Honestly I cant give a comparison, because well honestly how do I compare results, neither motor was opened up. Only difference I know of is Mobil1 is $20 and castrol is $7

I ran castrol GTX 20w50. I'm going to use 10w30 this time around and see how it holds up.

I run castrol GTX 10w30 on my b20vtec. I was wondering is it better to run synthetic oil on a turbo motor or just use regular oil.

its been said since synthetic doesnt break down like regular oil, it wont clog up oil feed lines and turbo center sections....because of the high heat...

atleast thats what i read.

but im running castrol gtx 10w30

I figure it costs about the same for me. I spend the extra few cents in gas getting to the wal-mart that I would save buying wal-mart super tech.
