does anyone know how much cfm the stock civic radiator fan pushes? i am looking to upgrade my radiator fan to a low-profile fan, but i want one that pushes more cfm than stock. thanks.

its pretty low probably like 400-500 cfm

I doubt it .... When I had my stock fan on w/Turbo it will cool down the radiator quick.

Now my aftermarket Perma-Cool 12" fan, rated at 1200CFM takes longer to cool radiator..... unless it likes to be ON longer ???

i can measure it, i have a wind tunnel here at work, I'll bet its about 1200 cfm

do it Im curious, 500 cfm does sound kinda low, but outfolowing a perma-cool? doubt it.

how did you come to the conclusion the stock fan cooled it down faster? temp guage on the radiator? pretty odd a 1200 cfm fan won't cool it faster.

i dont know, my stock fan seemed like it cooled better that the "perma-cool"

i had one on for a day and my car kept overheating so i went back to stock

Maybe the stock fans can only cycle "ON" for so long ?

But yes, my perma-cool runs longer, crazy but true.... I can make it stop sooner by doing the 'ol defroster/heater.

hmm, im wondering if the permas will cool it faster so it doesn't stay on? while the stock one is on for longer?

i heard the shroud on the fan has a lot to do with how well the fan will cool, i dont know

i agree the stock fan seems like it works better than my slim fans as well. runs for a shorter period of time

I know the ac fan is around 1200cfm. That's what I would go with!

we got a slim fit pusher fan.. and the car is overheating like crazy.. it doesn't get super-hot but it gets hot enough then the fan cools it down a lot.. but it gets way above normal before it cools down enough. any thoughts? thanks. we had to go with a pusher because of fitment issues.. and there is virtually no shroud on the fan.. i think the pusher fan is rated at like 1200 or 1300 cfm.. what about a lower thermostat or maybe wire the fan to be on all the time? bad idea?

yup, my stock fan cooled the car down faster and it didnt have to turn on as much. i think imma have to run a FAL slim fan along with the universal slim pusher fan. im also thinking my damn IC is blocking all the cool air, and making hot air come into play.... oh well. more money is needed to be spent. fall is almost here so maybe i can postpone putting down a 100 bucks for another fan...

$35 , and you can pick up 12" slim fans from the partzfinder.com .. i bought 4 and they are worth it... alot cheaper in price than the ones from auto zone and pepboys..

i was running a fluidyne civic radiator 92-95 in my DA with an autozone slimline pusher fan and the car would not stay cool on any warm days. now i have the full length fluidyne made for the car with two of the same pushers and it works wonderful.

problem is my next setup will be with a half radiator again and im already nervous about keeping it cool. But ive seen so many people on this board with success running the half style civic radiator. Luckily i will have room next time to run a stock fan or something similar in size. Hope it works out.

actually i think the 92-95 Fluidyne radiators are only single core. Nonetheless i had problems and i think it was mainly due to the fan. Just didnt pull enough air. If you are interested at all ill be selling my DA fluidyne. IM me for more details.

BTW, I'm using a Dual Core Civic radiator and the fan rated at 1200+cfm was/is not getting the job done on warm days....

Maybe it's too thick .... to cool it down properly with such small blades, IMO.

so are you using a slimline fan or a stock fan? Also is it a stock radiator?

Im wondering the same thing im putting 2 10" fans in front of the ac comp and the radiator im wondering if im going to be over heating now or causeig more strain on my ac ????
