Default SSAutoChrome Ball Bearing Turbos, any real life experience?

I hear their turbos are getting better and better, any real life experience with their turbos and real life failure due to it being legitimately the turbo's fault and not your error?

I know someone that has a very small turbo of theirs and it has taken a huge beating! and it's still alive and ticking. Very little to no shaft play. It boost spiked to 20-25 psi dues to MBC. I'm not trying to back them up or anything, but just speaking from experience.

I think alot of the trouble people are having with them are improper oiling, i've messed up a few Garretts due to this.

yes that is very true, when people do this, they blame it on the turbo

do you mean too much or too little oil supply/pressure?

Best regards

Yeah, or improper draining.

I've also accidentally ran a turbo with the feed line clogged, that sucked. I was going to blame the turbo until i took off the feed, started the car, and no oil came out.

I wasn't aware of that either but, I can say that I have run a turbo of their's and it was trouble free. It's also still on the vehicle and the new owner has had no complaints.

ive been reading on some other boards that instead of just installing the turbocharger, You take it apart and inspect all the internals and replace what needs to be replaced, they arent half bad.
Still I dont trust them

And it's 100% certain it wasn't due to an oiling issue?

brand new -3AN lines. and ive setup so many turbo kits its rediculous we changed it out to another turbo garrett . REAL GARRETT and no problems. same feed/return line. been runnin 4000 miles now. driven on 300+ mile trips i tend to shy away ebay turbos so far ive had nothing but badluck with them as well as a few of my customers who've purcahsed from them and had installed elsewhere.

Did they take the turbo back?

I'll likely buy a real Garrett, i was just curious the results, so far there seems to only be one person having problems. Are people commenting on their BB turbos, or just their regular ones?

I ran a non bb one that had almost 4K on it. Barely any shaft play (same as a garrett I have with ~same mileage) and no seal problems whatsoever. No complaints here, but I've also only tried one

i tuned my bud's car which ran a xspower t3. he used it for a little over 5000miles before upgrading to a bigger Garrett. no issues whatsoever, boosted great, and it has almost no shaftplay. it will probably tighten completely up with oil
