resistor box OHMs reading
What OHM value the resistor box should give when you try i out with a multimeter???
When I test the resistance on mine, I get 6.3 ohms,,is it OK? I mean how could I know if my resistor box is good or not I don't want to fry my ECU.
thanks.

Re: resistor box OHMs reading (birz)
Both DSM and Honduh return 6.7-6.8 ohms on my meters.
Electronics are typically engineered with a 25% larger than needed capacity, as a saftey margin. Going 6.3 ohms wouldn't bother me... but I think the fact that your meter is likely .5 ohms off... if that were my meter, that would bother me.

then why on several sites they say that you should use 10ohm 10watt radioshack resistor??? (if you want to go without a resistor box and run 4 inline resistor)

There are acceptable tolerances with the resistor box. You need to know some basic laws of circuits. I'll copy some simply math I've done in the past and posted previously.
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by nowtype »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Simple way to think about it is saturated injectors require about 12-16 ohms, p&H require about 2-5ohms
Inline resistors are added so
Req=R1+R2
Req is 12-16 ohms
R1=2-5ohms
R2=your inline resistor
so basically the highest resistor you would need is an 11 ohm resistor and the lowest would be 7ohms.
Now the power:
P=V*I
P=power, V=voltage=12VDC, I=current=measure it(in amps)
</TD></TR></TABLE>
Thats basically how you chose which resistors to run. Not too complicated. Honda uses ~7ohm which is the lowest scale based on my calculations, but I suck at circuit analysis so I'm sure its more than acceptable. Honda engineer>me.

Because you can buy them off the shelf at Radio Slack for a dollar.
Now, start worrying about why your DVOM is fucked up like I told you.

You also may have to short the leads of your DMM for a little bit to zero the meter. Try that and see what happens if your really worried about it.
