Default oil catch can and boost, lets see your PCV system....

now i know why im leaking oil out of my valve cover gasket and through my tube seals causing my spark plugs to get submerged in oil. also i have been burning oil super rank now that i have upped the boost to 12psi from 5psi. it seems as though i am getting to much pressure inside the crankcase and its blowing by the rings and going through the valves causing the head to be pressurized and my small breather just isnt doing the job to vent that air pressure. i need something to suck it out from the valve cover and crankcase. so i have been thinking about a design to suck air out of the crankcase and head in vacuum and boost. ill post pics once i draw it up. in the mean time, id like some other ideas.

d-series for me, extra ports in the valve cover going to a slash cut in the dumptube and the back of the block goes to a slash cut in the downpipe. the stock port in the valve cover has a little filter on it so air can be sucked in when need be and provide a extra path to the open if for some reason the other ports arent enough.

ahahha. wtf....... if oils getting past the rings. its gonna go out of the ex,(and smoke) not the valvecover gasket. there are oil drainback holes in the head/block. this is how the pressure get from the bottom to the top.

anyhow. here is an idea.

2 cans humm

I am filling up my can after boosting hard @ 15 psi on a D Series
Runing a Jazz Unit, with a Breather + 2 3/8 Holes Fitting to a Jazz 3/8 Catch Can, anyway i can route the can to dump the oil back into the car? Inside of dumping it after 2 runs at the track?

Mine

I moved the Lines over the Intake Manfold and mounted the Can by the Fuel Filter, Way up high and I am stilling overfilling the can, should i add Steel Woll inside the can?

I don't have any issues with mine filling up. But i run mine back to pre turbo, thus creating a vacuum.... they way you guys have them, isn't that just basicaly a way for it to vent, rather then actually pulling out the air?

Endyn breather kit, valve cover has 2 extra vents on the front as well. So, 5 breather points in total. No problems here.

Can you mount the catchcan any higher than that? It might help.

no, there is too much pressure being built up under the valve cover, so it leaks through the gasket. the pressure is going through the valves and into the head. this is pressure and since there is oil under my valve cover for my cams that breather just isnt cutting it.

Tchleung can you explain how you have everything routed ? JW, since the lines coming out of the valve cover don't seem to be hooked up to the endyn can ? & I see black hoses coming out of your Endyn can ?

dturbocivic could you explain why you have *2* cans instead of one ? How did you go about routing that ?

Quad-Damage I would definately add steel wool bro - It should help with the can filling up so quick.

Good Day,
RH.

You're right. the valve cover lines are not gonig to the can. Both the valve cover lines, and the valve cover breather line at the back are just free vent poiting at the ground. The endyn can is gonig to the block fittings. Prior toa dding the valve cover fittings, I was filling my can up with oil after 2 hard full boost passes. Now it's not filling up at all anymore.

Because crankcase pressure would try to push the oil back into the catch can.

Here's a good post about venting. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=749847

WOW, that is all i have to say.

your small *** breather filter must be completly saturated in oil then, huh? you need a new gasket if yours is leaking. not from anything else. replace the gasket and make sure the surfaces that it touches are completly dry and clean before you install it.

also, you need read a book on how engine's work, so you know what the hell you are talking about

IT WONT HELP. no matter what is in your catch can, its going to get filled up at the same rate. your ******* catch can doesnt give a **** what is going on inside your engine, how the hell is that going to stop oil from being pushed out of the engine?????????????????????? riddle me that one, batman......

you have to change something else bigger vent lines, first off, move the vent to the front side of the valve cover. like i was telling you in another post, when you accelerate, the oil is getting pushed against the backside of the valvecover, that combined with all the pressure will push mad oil, secondly get a larger diameter hose and fittings. something about 3/4 inch I.D. will be better than what you have. the more vents you have, the less chance you have of pushing oil, you will move more air than oil this way.

You guys need a krank vent system. It keeps the boost out even with the factory PCV failing. Has only had one failure and that's because the engine itself blew up and sent out approximately 2,000 psi wave.

You can put these units inline with the PCV to keep yourself from drilling, tapping, and attaching new fittings. See my sig

what are you talking about? oil only leaks through the valve cover gasket and through the tube seals as i boost more than 5 psi. so logically puting two and two together i have come up with the conclusion that as i increase boost there has got to be more pressure under that valve cover and the easiest way to get out is through those valve cover seals. therefore there has got to be some pressure leaking through the valves so im thinking of a way to fix it. i mean im not trying to fix the valves themselves, im just trying to relieve some pressure being built up in there. it will still leak through the valves but im hoping to find a solution how to fix the oil leaking through the valve cover gasket. i cant think of anything else. i have a new valve gasket and tube seals

kane.s2k: Only problem with that is, it's not letting the system vent when it's most crucial, in boost. This is great for keepnig boost out of yuor crankcase, and pulling pressure out when in vacuum, but when in boost, the pressure inside teh crankcase still has no where to go.

The crankcase pressure vents through the breather. More pressure is not introduced via the PCV with this system.

yeah but thats the same as a $3 check valve from napa. it still closes one port while in boost.. its like running the stock pcv system with a polished pcv valve. what you want is a vacuum and you want all the factory ports and more if you can make them to be able to vent.

exhaust slash cut and pre turbo slash cut with extra ports in the valve cover are still the best options for more venting.

You get 2 of them. Honestly these aren't the easiest items to machine if you look at them. Also you'll never need another PCV valve again. Not to mention the amount of $$ you save on oil consumption or the fact that your car isn't combusting oil/detonating that's robbing power and slicking up the insides.

I use it on my own car and a few others all with great success. I've yet to hear a single complaint from actual users. Some have gotten back 20whp before/after from this mod which made me

The problem is that these valves are letting boost still get through. You can go ahead and run the napa ball&spring or flapper valves and drill .5"D holes all around your cover if it makes you happy. I'm just gonna say I've never heard anyone say "wow, I just wasted $110 after using this"
