NGK AFX wideband- sens or replacement & usage?
I have a NGK AFX wideband & have a few questions.
1) what is the o2 wideband replacement sensor part#?
2) how many miles has your NGK NTK sensor lasted?
What type of fuel & type of fuel/racing does your car see?
My NGK NTK sensor lasted me 2 years and about 5,000 miles.
About 3,000 miles where drag racing, road racing.
I'm on E85
Thanks - Charlie

I'm not sure on the part #, but it is the NTK wideband. I think I've seen them for $180 or so. I haven't had mine for that long, but my instructor at EFI university said he has never replaced his. 5 years going, leaded and unleaded pump and race fuels. What problem are you having with it? Supposedly when the NTK's go bad, they just quit sending data. Versus a bosch sensor will usually go lean with higher airflow pulls.

Does your instructor have this one?
http://www.t1racedevelopment.com/cat...-lambda-sensor
my wide band does it's normal countdown on startup, then defults to "send_air".
This happened a while back, I just didn't have time to worry about it since before race events I thow the car on the dyno just to check over everything.

I didn't see his, he travels and tunes. He was just instructing when I was talking to him. That is what mine looks like. I don't know what the "send air" prompt means, I'd have to look into the paperwork that came with mine, but maybe it is time for a sensor. I know when I used the bosch wideband sensors, I'd get maybe a year out of them tuning. That is why when I got a new dyno, I just went with the NTK's based on what my instructor had mentioned about the NTK sensors. Short of going like an afm1000, but those look like they use the NTK sensor also, so short of getting the big dog controller, I'll have to run the afx controller for now.

I have 2 ngk afx wideband, 1 is on my race car and 1 I use for tuning. I have them maybe for over 2 yrs now but I don't know how many miles on them. I"m using e85 as well. Have u tried turning the know counter clockwise or vice versa to see if it change to "Cal"? Maybe u need to re-calibrate the sensor. Calibrate the sensor by hanging it out the exhaust pipe.
