i followed earl's method of driving straight to the dyno/tuner which was only about 4 miles from where i built my motor and no problems what so ever a year later.

Good to see this post still hanging around. The legacy of Earl lives on with threads like these and of course with Mike Laskey of Laskey Racing.

Broke in my motor with this method, will do the same with any other.

Interesting article. i am also a firm beliver of This. Basemap should be used to get the car to idle without it being to Rich. it shouldnt be used to drive youre car for 500 miles. On a new build start it, check for leaks i usually idle it from 1500-2500 to operating tempature. Change oil and tow to dyno. if you have to drive a few miles shouldnt hurt as long as a/f ratios are in check. Just dont go into boost at all. Then tune and Enjoy
