Unmodified headers; so people that already have headers can basically bolt our system on(if/when we are ready to ship these kits to customers). We actually prefer DC sports headers, but my NSX came with Comptechs already, so might as well use them. I tried a few different custom combinations earlier this spring, but the added cost of building them in-house vs. calling up and ordering a set of headers in two days definately did not out-weigh the performance gains. I may play around a bit, but with VERY limited engine bay space, we are pretty much stuck with this combination.</TD></TR></TABLE>I know you're not actually modifying the headers, but what I meant was you're not using a true dedicated turbo manifold. Im surprised that its not effective to build a true turbo header, than to just use a N/A one.

Also, I noticed you are advertising these kits on your website. Not to be rude, but can you explain why the kit costs so much? I know that every part on the NSX is overpriced. I guess its just proportionate to the cost of the NSX. But can you elaborate why a header system, modified flanges, turbo, piping, intercooler, water pump, ecu, wastegate, BOV, etc amounts to $14,000? Im not knocking your system, I just want to know why it costs so much.

I can say first hand, as an owner of one of Lovefab's NSX kits, that I would galdly pay thousands more than what Cody asked just based on the craftsmanship alone.

The list of parts included with the kit is twice as long as the one just mentioned down to every single nut, bolt, and clamp. Literally, the only thing I've been required to purchase that wasn't included with the kit is gas.

Spending my summer at 600+ hp reliably has been priceless.

Im sure you would. I can only imagine how much fun a high HP street NSX can be.

Now you say "craftsmanship", but what makes it so different than any other custom turbo setup? When one refers to craftsmanship on a turbo kit, I think they are most importantly refering to the manifold. Since the Lovefab kit does not use a custom manifold, what craftsmanship are you refering to? I know there is alot more to it than just the manifold, but for most, the manifold is the one part of the system that people cannot fabricate themselves, correct? Most everyone, buys a manifold, but makes their own piping, exhaust, etc.

Like I said, im not knocking the product in any way. Im glad that Lovefab has stepped up to the plate and has designed a reliable setup for the NSX, but im just trying to understand where the $14000+ pricetag comes from. I know when you buy an NSX, you gotta pay to play. Nothing comes cheap. As complete as you say the kit is, $14,000 does not include, sleeving, rods, pistons, time, tuning, brake upgrade, clutch, and all the other necessities involved in building a turbo NSX. Realistically, it would cost roughly another $10-20Gs to complete everything, right? Im just wondering how the turbo kit amounts to $14,000 in parts.

Anyways, like I said, I know you gotta pay to play. If I did have $30,000 to blow on this, I probably wouldnt be questioning it.

Craftsmanship is referring to many things here:

* Weld quality and integrity is second to none.
* Fitment is flawless - almost undetectable install. Perfectly aligned parts that exceed the currently available aftermarket NSX parts in quality.
* Amazing attention to detail.
* Durability, zero maintenance, and reliability also come to mind.

As far as the price is concerned - take the basic Comptech supercharger for the NSX that will produce 375hp. Add just the EMS, fuel system (injectors, fuel pump, adjustable regulator, and gauge), and air/water intercooler system (custom fabricated air/water IC, front mounted heat exchanger, water pump, reservoir, lines, and fittings) and you've easily spent north of $13,000.

Another $1000 for a kit that is capable of twice the power? Lovefab is nuts for making the kit version so cheap.

Back to the thread...Cody - can't wait to see how your build turns out.

Short video:

http://www.we-todd-did-racing....5NTQx

The video was taken this past spring while testing at 5psi.

We tune our factory-engine NSX customers to slightly under 400whp - it's our preferred "reliable" limit. Naturally, we always elect to stay on the safe side of things.

Now, onto my engine build...

There is an INCREDIBLE amount of work involved in PROPERLY preparing a high horsepower NSX engine. Before witnessing the work this past weekend firsthand, I never knew how labor intensive the teardown, clean, measure, and blueprint process was. I will have pictures of what was completed rather soon (unfortunately, I forgot to bring the camera with me).

That's it for now. I have a crazy workload this week so don’t expect too many updates - sorry guys.

I decided to post this video. Sorry in advance for the quality as it was taken from a digital camera by my wife, Jen. Here's the video (please excuse the wife’s excitement):

<U>Amateur drag racing at its best!</U>

This was only my second quarter mile run EVER! I was only able to make two passes that night and the second pass was over a second quicker than the first. Even at the 5 PSI boost setting we were testing, there was massive wheel spin until third gear with a lot of throttle modulation required.

Not bad at all considering my terrible 2.7 second 60ft time (drag stip newb) and only 5 PSI boost with the trunk jammed full of luggage. It was pretty cool to see the car prior to me run 11.5 @ 117mph for a little clarification of what was possible with some traction.

I met Mase this night as well and he witnessed my abysmal first ever quarter mile run. He also freshened me up on the lights. Thanks bud!

Yep, Im a drag racing n00b! Ive completed a few laps on the twisty course, but not yet in this car.

A customers car datalogged a 50mph to 90mph run in 2.5 seconds. This was recorded on a Street setup, 13psi, and there were traction issues. Similar Comptech supercharged setups usually run this in 4.5 seconds.

While cutting collectors yesterday, I prepped my old S2000 race rubber for fitment on the NSX. With 12mm wheels spacers in the front, everything fits great. I might try and snap some pics because I also raised the car two inches in anticipation for Sebring's nasty conditions.
