Looking for guestimates as to how much whp my setup could get b16/stg3gt fr kit and more
im looking for a quick guestimate on my setup, i was talking with a few friends and they are doubting my setup haha as to what it can do and i was wondering what you guys think it has potenital in making. im hoping in the 650whp range but not sure, asmy setup is ever changing here it goes
GT3582R garrett dual ball bearing turbo
Full race Prostreet Ramhorn manifold
Full race Prostreet downpipe
Full race Pro AM 11x3x20 Backdoor intercooler
Full race backdoor intercooler piping
Full race wastegate tube
Full race Intake Manifold with 70mm bbk power plus throttle body
Tial 40mm wastegate
Tial 50mm Blow off valve
Hondata s300 with p28 ecu
b16 81mm bore block
sleeved
je 8:1 c\r pistons
crower H beam connecting rods (not the cheapo ones)
lighten rotation assembly
gsr head
ported & polished
multi angle valve job
fulley built
oem camshafts
ls transmission
LSD
stage 5 clutch kit
act prolite flywheel
arp pro flywheel bolts
arp clutch bolts
walbro 255 fuel pump
1000cc injectors
palmieri inline fuel filter
high flo fuel rail
aeromotive fuel pressure regulator
-6an fuel lines
that is a VAUGE rundown of my setup, they are doubting it beucase the bore is OEM howeveri beg to differ as to the power it is capable of, it is going in a fulley gutted ef hatch,6 point roll cage, one off sway-a-way aluminum bodied coilover suspension, all energy suspension bushings, pfi speed traction bar, and so so so so so so so so so so much more, i would be here all day with the rundown lol
but what do you think

Being an 81mm motor doesn't have anything to do with how much power the motor is capable of, it just means he's going to have to run a few more pounds of boost and won't make as much torque, spool as quickly, or have as much midrange as a larger bore motor. It'll do 650 WHP, I made over 550 with an SC61 on an 81.5mm 7.8:1 B16!
But oh yeah, for the love of god get rid of that LS tranny. Low compression stock bore B16 + LS trans = horrible to drive.

Ya but how many pounds of boost is he going to have to run on that turbo at 110 octane? 35psi? Anything could happen. I just know that theyre are people out there will 84mm ls vtec's on the same or bigger turbo and they are struggling to make 650. Also remember your going to need to upgrade your fuel system. if you havent done that already.

Re: (92redhatch)
everythnig is upgraded on my motor/car to handle whatever my motor can throw at it.
i really dont plan on pushing the setup past 28psi. i would hope for at least to break the 600s at that.

Re: (Schister66)
yea that is what i figured, i also figured i could go with a .63 ar and have some better bottom end, but .82 will have great top end.
and my shell is also fulley gutted, no ac,no heater core,no nothing.
2 racing seats,6 pnt roll race, one off sway-a-way full coilover suspension, i figure the power to weight ratios will be pretty much insane

If you don't want to push past 28 psi that's a problem. At 28 psi I can't see your setup making more than 560-575 WHP. Get a bigger fuel pump, a 5-bar MAP, and go to town.

Re: (b18sihatch)
If you have the money I would go ahead and get a Fuel sump and get that installed and run a Aeromotive A1000 pump and -10an Lines with a inline fuel filter to the fuel rail. That way if you ever wanted to upgrade there is no need to.

Re: (BoostedEG6)
i may just do that, i was thinking of getting a few gallon fuel cell, not a gallon cos i do wanna drive this from here to there lol, but if i got a fuel cell i would definitly go that route.

you think displacement has nothing to do with the power it can make? when you are maxing out a turbo having a smaller displacement is going to limit your powermaking potential. you reach a point where turning up the boost another pound wont make anymore power.
i dont think a stock bore b16 will make 650whp i think you can break 600whp though. also ive pushed my gt35r to 26psi and we maxed out the walbro but i had stock lines so yours might be ok. might want to give a fuel sump a thought though.
are people making 600+ on the clutch you are using?

actually that car made 650whp on 81.5 bore block, shows the same kit im running

Re: (b18sihatch)
i had a similar set up and it sucked on the street, took forever to spool with a very narrow powerband. never dynoed it though. i your plan on racing it though, you will need to rev pretty high (9k+ minimum) to stay in your powerband. if this is a street car i would definatly go with .63 a/r. and if possible larger bore w/ more compression. these will all help with your spol greatly

Re: (downeyballz)
well i built the car for a ''highway'' aspired race car. car saying im racing it on highways or whatnot.
BUT, long geared ls transmission high rev/high boost, it is a ideal atmosphere that the car will function very well in.
the car is a gutted ef so even if it makes 600whp in that shell, it will be capable of 10s definitly. reguardless of rev, bore, ect

Re: (b18sihatch)
the only objection i have about my motor setup is keeping the block 81mm bore. its almost like a challenge, its easy to build a block with big borexstroke and make good power, but its harder to make great power with 81mm bore, and as you can see im pulling out all the stops for it to try and make the engine breathe as much air as possible without having to make the bore larger.
might lack the torque end altho i dont think it will lack complete torque. like i said somewhere in the 6-650whp range would be nice, a consistant 550 i would be happy with tho

Re: (b18sihatch)
as far as fuel goes right now i have
1000cc injectors
walbro 255 fuel pump
aeromotive -6an fuel pressure regulator
-6 an high flo fuel filter
-6 an high flo fuel rail
-6 an fue lines to all fuel accessories
about how much fuel do you think that setup is capable of running whp wise
also to make everything a bit easier to install do you think it would be wise to scratch using the oem fuel tank and just run the lines inside the car from a fuel cell around 5 gallons?
as you can tell my fuel system pretty much all flows together right now, is it really needed to upgrade all system parts to -8an fittings and lines?

that was an ls crank, 81.5mm bore yes but another 12mm additional stoke over your b16.
essentially 15% more displacement.

dude, don't worry about hp numbers man. Just don't. Theoretically, you don't need 700 crank hp to push 10's, not even close to that. If your car is sub 2000lbs, you could easily do 10's with 475-500whp, without a hickup...first time to the track.
With that said, I would change trannies. Although I understand your point with highway driving and the longer gears to pull extra hard 3rd-5th gears, it still is not ideal for drag racing, period. The shorter the gearing, (assuming traction control is good) the faster your car is going to be as far as 1/4 mile racing goes. I admire your choice of displacement though, and it would be great to show the many Honda-Tech members that traction control is best handled by displacement, not through the flutter of the foot.

Re: (WickedHonda00)
honesty i like the longer geared transmissions. i almost think the lower comprssion with longer gears and top end power, might keep traction up instead of short geared lower end power and higher compression traction might not be as good.
for traction im using pfi speed traction bar
aftermarket lsd
stage 5 clutch
slicks

Re: (mike@synapse motorsport)
whats up man! Look I had a buddy who went with the same setup and at 23psi wat at 560!
the only thing different on his was 83mm and was tuned by mase.....
Its really up to you! I think that your c/r iss too low even though a gsr head will bump it up a lil but still not enough...

one off sway-a-way full aluminum bodied coilover suspension with 200psi nitrogin ports, enerygy bushings all around, front and rear strut bar, havent upgrade anything else as for suspension yet
