Re: KraftWerks B-Series Race Supercharger Kit (Unbelievable Gains!)
15 years with Honda/Acura I’ve replaced several damaged aluminum crank pullies on mostly TL-S and CL-S. Personally have not seen oil pump damage, though the engineers had sent us information over the years warning us about it as they had seen it (they have a little larger sample size lol) Of course there’s exceptions to everything, and I’m not saying it’s GOING to damage anything, you’re call. I ran the 8 psi JRSC aluminum crank pulley on my GSR for 6-7 years until switching to a brand new, larger OEM B20 pulley to spin the blower faster, and with piece of mind. I hear you on the B16, honda has done some awesome things over the years in terms of making good performers.

here is my KW setup built motor did 297whp with significant belt slip after 7k rpm i recently bought motorvation crank pulley but my tuner says a non damned pulley can break my oil pump. i also just recently got 110mm pulley for the supercharger. might hold on the crank pulley for a bit jrcivic how’s ur motor running with the custom pulley? any issues
What are the specs on your setup? Car looks great!

Re: KraftWerks B-Series Race Supercharger Kit (Unbelievable Gains!)
why is everyone bashing this kit lol, just because you think it's the exact same thing as a vortech unit, it's not. I could write a essay on the rotrex units from what i've read up on the past few weeks. I wouldn't be so quick to jump on the haterade bandwagon towards these. Why yes it is more cost effective to slap a turbo kit on a b-series and make more power in the long run, some people do use their cars for other things besides straight line racing. A bunch of road racing cars are running them and are posting better lap times vs turbo setups on the same vehicle. You guys should shoot over to k20a.org and look at the amount of K cars running these rotrex setups. I'm interested in trying one myself or at least take a ride in a rotrex powered car 1st.
Pros of the unit
Less heat in the engine bay
More space up front in bay for cramped up cars i.e. CRX's DA's and EF's
No tapping oil pans, running oil lines off the block
Cons:
Entry level pricing a tad high
Not a complete kit
Lose A/C and PS

Re: KraftWerks B-Series Race Supercharger Kit (Unbelievable Gains!)
I've had the prototype kit on my car of over a year and LOVE IT! I used to call myself a "turbo guy" and would actually poke fun at anything Honda/Acura that was supercharged. When I got the chance to put my car up for testing I was in the middle of another turbo build, I can honestly say getting this supercharger was a blessing.
My car is a street car, that I take to track days when the wallet and wife permit. Around town the car has a crisp/strong feel, and when I want to smash, the power comes in extremely linear and pulls ALL the way to redline. It actually makes me annoyed I have to shift because it feels so strong. So far car has been victorious over GTO's, WRX's, G35's, 350Z's, and a couple Evo's... I lost to a 400hp Evo from a dig, so eh, good for him.
I think people need to realize this is not the same type of boost as a turbo set up... This KraftWerks stuff has a different use/purpose. As for it not being a complete kit, quit f'n crying, the hardest part is done for you, intercooler piping and an intercooler isn't a big deal. Also, they call it a RACE kit, not a CREATURE COMFORT kit, if you want that A/C and P/S put that roots style stuff on your car and be slow, lol!
Lastly, I recommend going for a ride in a car with the kit before you start knocking it. It amazes me how people can make comments on something they haven't even experienced...must just be fear. If anybody is ACTUALLY interested in the kit, I'm down to arrange a few rides on my "red rocket', lol.

I am getting mine painted... and the Carbon Fiber hood restored. I have enough power, so no change there.

Re: KraftWerks B-Series Race Supercharger Kit (Unbelievable Gains!)
Thanks man. I had a steering/suspension issue which I still need to diagnose. I suspect my steering rack is the culprit, 29 year old rack...
I'm considering upping the Rotrex to one of the c38 units. From your experience, would you suggest going with a C38-61 or 81 vs the c38-92? Motor is built (stock sleeves)
Thanks

The C38-81 is the "Easy" button since your inlet plumbing will still fit the 3" inlet opening... you will have to re-pulley it because the peak supercharger speed and drive ratio are lower than your C30-94. The C38-92 will make a "Little" more power than the C38-81, but the inlet opening is larger and will make it difficult to create an inlet pipe/filter due to the proximity of the header.

Nice setup! How does it drive on the street? I came across a good deal on a kit. Trying to decide between it or a turbo setup.

I am going to have to enlist some young millennials to help me with this... I am an old "tech challenged" guy. Maybe one of you wanting a video so bad should come down with their camera/GoPro and go for a ride... at least then it will be composed the way you want it.

DaX, it would need a LOT of preparation to get it ready for a 1/4 mile pass... it isn't anywhere near ready for that. But we could definitely connect for some street pulls.
