its ashame innovate is such a piece of crap
its only been in the car 3 weeks after we installed the JRSC, and the sensor failed already, what a piece of crap. Is this common for the innovate units? Im contemplating returning the whole thing, its just ashame its gona be a megabitch to take it all out.

wich innovate is it?
i used to have a LC1 and it died after his first tuning session
my LM1 went 2 time in RMA but it still good since 4 years
for sensor failling you should check it location in your exhaust system to hot and they go fast

its in the factory o2 location right before the cat, your right i probably shouldnt blame innovate, that bosch sensor seems to be crap, anyway to switch sensors to something else, or is that unit calibrated only for the bosch

Re: its ashame innovate is such a piece of crap
I have had good luck with my LM-1, but my LC-1 has been nothing but hassle. I gave up on it after a bit of messing and just use the LM-1.
But i have never had a bosch sensor fail on me in the last 5 years, but I usually change them every 10k miles or so.

The sensor placement (too close to the turbo per say or at a low angle) and the controller can definately affect sensor life. It might not just be the sensor is crap.
Let me say first off an NGK sensor is definately superior from everything I have seen as far as quality and life of the sensor over the Bosch, maybe consider upgrading if the unit can be recalibrated for it. However just reference though I have a Bosch in my car with my NGK AFX setup for going on 3 years now... on nothing but leaded 112 fuel. So the Bosch has held up pretty decently in my application.

Running an LC-1 for the past 3 years with no issues. I have heard of people having problems with them, maybe i'm one of the lucky ones?

Been using my LM-1 for 5+ years and the unit works flawless. The sensors on the other hand have lasted anywhere from 3-4months of dyno tuning to 3-4 pulls lol...damn bosch sensors

the bosch sensor is great. the innovate lc1 is great as well.
chances are you need to update your firmwire on the LC1. the first version of them sold back in 2008ish had a glitch in the warm up routine causing premature sensor failure.
my first o2 sensor lasted 2 years daily driving on my LC1. that includes some leaded fuel a few times.

The sensor failing is not innovates fault. If you want a sensor that is built to last caugh up the cash and get a NTK sensor.

Re: its ashame innovate is such a piece of crap
I have a LM1 and its a peice of crap. It takes forever to warm up and goes through the warm up procedure everytime I start the car. I thought it was a voltage problem but even when I connect it straight to a auxilary battery its still a pain in my A$$. Time to get either a FAST wideband or possibly a motec.

i like my Lc-1 wideband it was cheap to thank god. Lol i have not had it to long but i think 3wks is pretty fast for craping out. maybe get a new sensor and try it out again. You could have just got a shity one. look around replace ments seem to be 50-70bux each g.l update when u replace and if it ***** out again fast!!!

Re: its ashame innovate is such a piece of crap
I have an LM1 with a ton of miles on it; gone through about 4 sensors on it (killed due to extreme heat but mostly race gas). I have an LM2 also that is working fine but i kinda like my lm1 better for tuning and my lm2 for obd2 stuff
the lsu 4.2 sensors dont last long with leaded gas esp oxygenated leaded gas

got no problem with the product itself, but if its gona eat through sensors like a *****, we have a problem, because im using it to simulate the factory o2 sensor so we can modify the ranges on the narrow band the ecu see's

I loved my old school M300, too. Never had a problem with the LC-1s either.
