Re: How long do you let your car warm up
I DD mine for 17K miles. I just started it up and went, but never really boosted until the car was at operating temp, which was only a few miles. If it's tuned right and build well, it should just be like any other OE turbo car on the market. Most of them last a long time as well.

Re: How long do you let your car warm up
When I drove a turbo car, I would let the car idle for 15seconds then drive easy until the car reached normal operating temp.
I did not drive the car in ice temperatures.

Re: How long do you let your car warm up
I usually let it warm up for about a minute more or less. I will usually get in and start the car, roll the windows down, plug in the radar detector and head unit, and by that time about a minute has passed. I take it easy untill operating temp is achieved. Nothing over 3.5K rpms.

yeah i just leave after about 5 seconds but i never rev it past about 3.5 until its up to OT. theres no reason to let it just sit there at idle for a few minutes.

Re: How long do you let your car warm up
all it takes is about 30 seconds to a min to get everything flowing through the motor and ready to go.
as for operating temps, after 30 secs just drive it and take it easy for a min or two and the car should be at the correct operating temps.
letting a car sit for 5 mins to warm up is not as effective as lightly driving it. prolonged idling is actually harder on the car than actually lightly driving it.
bad for the environment and gas too

Re: How long do you let your car warm up
i get in an go, letting the car warm up before I get on it. Unless its winter, then I will let it warm up.
driving hard on a cold transmission isn't good either, just remember that. Letting it warm up the engine in the driveway isn't doing anything for the transmission.

if stock engine:1~2 min.
if built with forged internals: 'til the gauge goes up a bit at least then drive slow 'til it fully warms up.
Just my opinion..

I usually let it warm up to around 110 F and then start driving and take it real easy on it until about 175-180 F. Then I give her hell.

Right now temps are getting to 95 degrees, so it's get in let it idle for 5-10 sec and go.
During winter...32-50 degrees, I'll let the temp gauge start to rise, @ idle.
nothing past half throttle until operating temp.

Usually fire it up wait for the oil press. to hit 60+. Then roll out. Boost cut is set <140 so until then it really doesnt see much action.

Re: How long do you let your car warm up
3-5 min on a warm day. Colder days I may wait 1-2 min longer. As always, I keep it below 3k rpm until everything is fully warmed up.
turbo timer set @ 30 seconds normal basis but set @ 1-2 minutes if its been revved high.

Re: How long do you let your car warm up
My car doesn't ever see the snow or get driven in cold weather so I can't speak on that. As for when it's warm, I usually just get in and go but don't drive hard or boost for about 3 minutes.

Re: How long do you let your car warm up
3-5 minutes here for most the year, In the winter time I will let the needle move up until it registers on the stock gauge before I start driving, and I just don't typically get on the throttle at all in the mornings lol

Re: How long do you let your car warm up
I'll let it warm up a minute or two but nothing more. I just won't get on it until it's fully heated up. I do that on all my cars.
