How Hot Does The Turbo Manifold Get
Is it normal for the manifold to get really hot within a couple of minutes from starting the car? Im thinking that this is a contributing factor to my valve cover being very hot, even when running for fifteen minutes.

No, it should stay cool to the touch.... I mean... it only has the exhaust gases running through it....

you turbo manifold will see inside temps of 1300+ F. So the outstide has to hit at least 1000* after a good run

Re: How Hot Does The Turbo Manifold Get (moops vs moors)
my cast greddy manifold on my old crx was usually around 430-450 degrees at idle, lots hotter if ur doin some pulls, my laser thermometer only went up to 500, kinda disapointed. it was interesting to see the difference on one side of the intercooler compared to the other tho. ill have to try that out again on my corolla once it runs.

Re: How Hot Does The Turbo Manifold Get (Fatty_1775)
There are coatings, but most won't do ****.
The only one that I would ever use is swain tech. there is 3/4 thicker than anyone else's on the market. I have HPC coating and to me, it doesn't do ****.
Honestly the best stuff is header wrap. I thermal coated my ramhorn mani cause I didn't want to wrap it cause it kinda looks ugly. After seeing what can melt/get too damn hot even witht he thermal coating, I'm going to header wrap the mani very, very soon.
I currently have my downpipe header wrapped and I can tell you, even after a hard run, you can put your hand on it.
There are also turbo blanets you can get (sorta of like diaper for the turbo) it helps keep underhood temps down a lot!!!!
