Help me choose a turbo for my crv
I have a 2001 CRV AWD manual, and it spends a lot of time above 10000 feet. I am considering a turbo setup, but I am kind of particular about what I want out of this thing. I am looking for at least 250whp and 300whp at most with similar torque numbers (hopefully). I want this power at 10-11 psi (I am staying with a factory map sensor), and I want full boost ASAP. I have been looking into the t3 super 60 and the t3\t4 50trim (both with .48 hot side). any insight on either of these, or perhaps another suggestion? Thanks!
by the way, assume that I will have all the proper supporting mods IE good equal length manifold, fuel support, ic, neptune etc... also, I won't be revving past 6700 rpm, and a good, strong torque curve is more desirable than peak hp for this one to get its fat *** moving.
thanks again

Re: Help me choose a turbo for my crv
I'm not sure about the .48ar turbine housing because commonly a .63ar is used on hondas, but if you're not revving overly high, i dont see why a .48ar wouldnt work just as well. I think you're spot on with your turbo choices though. A super 60 or a 50 trim would be my two choices for this application. As for the manifold, i'm not sure you really need an EQ manifold. For this situation, a log or a mini-ram would be sufficient and less expensive than your other options.

Thanks for the reply, do you have a preference of the two turbo choices? Do you know which will spool quickest? Thanks

Re: Help me choose a turbo for my crv
Im using a super 60, quick spool and great thru the powerband. I wouldnt go .63 cuz the B20 isnt a high revving engine and it would spool late..
The .50 trim would be my choice. 250 at the wheels would be the limit i would push on a stock bottom end. The .50 should be a great match to it.

I would use a turbo from an old Ford Thunderbird or SVO Mustang...

I was going to suggest that you save some $$ with a log or cast manifold and then go with a GT28RS. Stick with .63 housings. I have had lots of different turbine configurations, and did NOT like the .48.
