HELP AGAIN...Take a look at my cylinder wall!

You can rebuilt it in the car if your super ****. Pack the bottom of the cylinder with rags and tape it up. Wrap the crank with rags or food wrap. Block off all the oil and coolant passages in the top of the block. Then tape up the top of the motor around the cylinder you are to hone. Its ghetto, but done right works well. I rebuilt my sisters D16 like this, and it runs great.

yeah, i should have a pretty clear shot once the piston's out to rehone it..i'll just stick some newspaper in the very bottom of it...
do you guys think a catch can will help eleviate some of the blow-by gases I may be facing?

Maybe it's just me, but it looks to me that the cylinder wall is worn anyway. There are no visible hone marks and I can see other "up and down" maks on the cylinder wall.

well, I find out what the culprit was... #$%@^!**&!!!
lesson learned: be A LOT more careful when putting in pistons!
damn, thank goodness I put the damn headgasket on backwards, otherwise I don't think I ever would have caught this!

That really sucks. How bad will it be if he hones and slap the pistons back in with the out of round cylinder walls?

You can't pound the pistons in. It should have showed up on the wall after you rotated the the ctank a couple of turns while the block was still on the stand.

yes never pound them in, like you would in bed with a fairly attractive female. i usually take the end of rubber dead blow hammer and tap the top of it with a block of wood and it gently goes in. if its hard to go in, i take the piston out of the ring compressor and start over

if anything, you'll have lower compression in that cylinder and burn oil as well. trust me i know.
