They do have manifolds that look kinda like a header.... that's about it though. One or the other.

Yeah, tubular turbo manifolds look similar to the upper portion of a header, but thats where the similarities end. A turbo bolts onto a 02 housing that bolts onto a turbo manifold. All of this goes where a header would go, so you can't have both.

some v8 guys use a rear mounted turbo (i havent seen many on honda apps)

sts make a turbo kit that is rear mount.

so it "IS" possible to have a header and a turbo

I've seen those before. They claim to have very little lag, but I'm skeptical about hanging a turbo back by my gas tank and so far away from the engine.

I have seen them on trucks, was looking at them for my four runner at one time, but this also scared me, see to vulnerable where they put the turbo

I hadn't even thought about that, but I explained up there anyway. On our cars you can't have both. I haven't really inspected one of the rear turbo setups on anything else, but I wonder if the "header" would still techincally be a turbo manifold because it's got a turbo attached to it.

There was also the original TurboRex kit for 84-87 Civics/CRXs which mounted the turbo up behind the back side of the engine, so yes there IS a setup which uses both a header AND a turbo. Of course finding one is harder than finding a virgin in Vegas, and they don't fit anything 88+.

could you imagine running an n'a header, mounting a turbo at the end of the collector, and then having a pump feed the oil back to the pan?

not a rear turbo system, but would make the car a sleeper for sure

I can't remember the technical term for those rear mounted setups. I remember reading about how you don't need to run an intercooler since the loooong pipe running to the back kind of acts as an IC. I've seen it on a camaro. Pretty nice... just looks like a strange dual exhaust.

They are made by a company called STS i think, they released a kit for the type R a while back but have yet to see someone with the kit.

i imagine the oil pressure drop over that long of a line would also hurt the return. Eletric pump assist?

we call it a turbo manifold. a header is just a better flowing exhaust manifold.

They have their own seperate oiling system.
