Re: (purpleh22)
hmm updates? weve been working on the car a little bit lately.
my a1000 sucked in the prefilter and died, so i got a new aeromotive pump (eliminator, not a1000 bc it flows a bit more and is the same size) and a new prefilter.
-I got some monster truck size tires for the rear to keep the car from oversteering (giant front tires, little rear tires is scary)
-I got some s2000 seats (i HATED my sparcos)
-put carpet back in
-got the boost controller working
-got some new slicks
-i put my hood on the pink car, and lost that, so i got a new Seibon one. its pretty nice.
now, its just getting small stuff taken care of so i can race NOPI in 3 weeks
things to do before the race?
-build some spare trannies
-make a new catch can
-straighten out my steering wheel
-put in a new headgasket and fresh head studs
-roll rear fenders to fit my new rear tires
then hopefully i can run a number

Re: (EJ1 wilcox)
when it had no windhsield i took javier for a 4th gear ride (we had safety glasses on) it was SKETCHY, and i dont think he liked that one too much haha
now that theres a hood and a windshield it might be more fun

Re: (Full-Race Geoff)
Mad props Geoff!!! Hey, did you get to use Engine Analyzer at all in the build up of your monster motor? I know we haven't talked in like a year but it seemed that you were fairly interested in using that software.

Re: (pngfolife)
i used it a while ago, then really didnt need it after that... the majority of the developments were made on the dyno and in the fab shop. once we understood what the software was telling us, we could see trends and then didnt really have to use the software anymore

the pump is pretty loud, but when i had a back seat in it, it was much quieter... i think i may try to put a back seat in it again, but the cage makes it a little tricky. Driving on the street with backseat and carpet is definately worth the effort tho!
walbros are good to about 630 whp. after that you need to add an inline walbro or go to a sumped tank + external pump like mine
i got oversized headstuds in the new motor im going to run next year, but for the NOPI race im just going to run on stock head studs and a new head gasket on the old motor
i have a turbo XS quad stage, but to be honest, its kind of a pain in the ***. We plan on finishing a design for our own 3 stage boost controller. Ill run this one for a while then start testing ours out once we have something
dr integra -- We made a new intercooler, so its silver right now. i was going to anodize it but dont have the time right now, so ill just do it after the race. Its a 792 whp grocery getter now thanks for the props, its been a lot of work, but definately worth it all
fabnewb -- what do you need to know?

Re: (Full-Race Geoff)
Is it the special 4088r you said you guys were developing with the non twin scroll housing and less anti surge on the front cover? Also do you have any available yet. ANd how do you feel it would work on a mr2 turbo revving to 8200. I am looking for a decent power band of 5000-8200. Bought a gt3567r, but after further research i think i should have went with the 4088r. Havent got a chance to run teh 3567r but i would to waste my time with it since there are not alot of actual data on it. And i want to get as much out of my motor as possible. Since i am going for the stock block mr2 record. Which is currently at 549rwhp @ 26psi with a very out dated .58 ar p trimm, t66. Thanks for your time, i love reading your posts froma ll the different sites- supraforums, mr2 board, freshalloy, etc...

Re: (fabnewb)
Honestly, unless you are trying to go REALLLY fast (like deep 9s) that 3567 in your MR2 will work extremely well.
which intake and exhaust manifolds are you using, what cams, and who did the headwork?
There is no reason why you wouldnt make more than 550whp. As long as your setup is tuned well and running right, it should destroy that power level, and spool faster. I really dont think you should change the setup...

Re:
Custom intake manifold custom exhaust manifold. I made them myself using some calculation from some books and SAE papers. And also advice from people such as yourself. Headwork is going to be done by Headgames as soon as i purchase the valves. Using 264 cams for midrange, i had 272 on the last setup and it just hated the midrange and just wanted to rev, Last stock motor went because i revved it too high and the oil pump couldn;t push enough volume for that high rpm. It went to 520 whp, but i took it to teh local track (trying to break stock block track record too) Launched and the on 2-->3 shift, it gave out, Greddy oil pressure warning light came on and i heard a knockin... Pistons, Rods, everything was fine but the crank, my oil pan looked like a Pot of gold... So this time around i have shimmed a stock oil pump from a 96 5sfe camry (rated for more volume) and decided to not chance it and keep teh revs to a 8500 rev limit. thanks again for your advice i guess i should just keep the turbo. By chance do you have any dyno plots of the 3567r?
