meh.......its impressive that you can get 700+whp out of it but its a shame you only get to use that power for about 2500rpm........
that powerband blows IMO

You gotta remember that there was a boost problem on this run, when boost peaks at 39psi and then drops to 32psi it's going to make the curve look very bad like that. If the boost was steady then it would make very good power over a wide rpm range.

nah i dont buy it......ok i will admit that would make a great drag car but it would absolutly suck *** to have to wait until 6000rpm before the turd would accualy start to move on the street.........and even then it would just shred the tires.....
i bet it will run some sick numbers down the strip but there is no way you can convince me that it would have a very good power band for the street...

When you're racing, how often are you below 6k? On a motor like this, never. When you're driving easy on the street then you're not in boost, so what's the big deal? If you want a car that spools at 2500rpms, then this obviously isn't the setup for you. For a 700+whp car, this car has an awesome powerband...

1st) green line = tq...and if you take a look at the graph this 2.0l is pumping 150wtq @ 4500rpms. you dont buy it? are you calling mr. raicer a liar!
2nd) geoff let off because of boost fluctuation issues @ 8k...the motor is built to see 10k.
[QUOTE=Full-Race Geoff]Boost was holding 38 pounds then dropping off to 32 pounds. If boost would have held at 38 pounds this would have easily made 800-850whp. [QUOTE]
3rd) the car wasnt built to be fast on the street. we dont live in THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS..theres no spray painted lines on the street and he doesnt need enough power to fly over a supra when jumping draw bridges. its daily driven on the street not raced on the street..saved for the track where there are no speed limits & its not illegal to use the monster powerband. there is absolutly not one "suck ***" part of the driving experience you have in this car.
4th) i know one way you can be convinced...take a ride.

how can anyone bag on a 700whp car. i would take 700whp if it meant having a 3rpm powerband, people who knock it are just mad jealous,. thats roughly double the power my integra makes. congrats

yeah it sucks *** really bad. its no fun, and is only good for drag racing. thats it. spare us the drama!!! rather than argue with people who obviously are doing stuff, why not just pm me and ask in a civilized manner??
honestly the car is really fast. when jeff evans was in it street tuning (we were driving around on THE STREET) he said its definately the fastest street car hes ever been in and he will never get in a car that i drive fast in again becuase i was gonna kill him. its really really fast. That was only at 21 psi.
It has so much driveability and a smooth powerband that i wouldnt have believed someone who told me the same thing either. I understand your being hesitant to accept that, but you need to realize this car has a LOT of r&d and a LOT of time in it to get it to this point. It was built to be a huge power street car since day 1. It rarely sees the track, so that was not a major concern. we are pretty good at what we do, we have a lot of practice and a lot of experience, and we continue to find better and better ways to do things.
We are working on ways to get even more power (considerably more) out of the motor, and get way more traction out of the suspension. Progression and learning is the name of the game, and were just trying to get as much data and testing done as possible. This will eventually trickle down into everyones hands and everyone will benefit from our work on this car. The newest and coolest stuff has not even been talked about

I hear alot about you drag racing and that the car is fast(congrats on everything) but have never heard of what kind of times or speeds do you trap in the 1/4 mile......I live in NC and dont get to make it to any AZ tracks

You know aometime this site just confuses me with the way some people come across with saying things. Someone like Geoff and the other Jeff for that matter work very hard at what they do (not saying that there are not other people as well). Geoff as a favor to the rest of us took time out of his busy schedule to say hey guys here is a little something that we were able to do with the car at the dyno. We ran into these following issues, but will have them corrected, and take it from there.
Nowhere in the post did I see him trying to convince you that this is the setup that you needed to have for a "street car." This is just one mans setup here on this thread.
So what if they would have made 800+ whp, would we have people on here saying that it was impossible to do that.
I mean, yes they turned the boost all the way up to 38 PSI, but I don't remember anything stating that this is what he was going to use to drive on the street. Just because it made this obscene amount of power, doesn't mean that this is what he will drive around with on the street. My money is on Geoff to turn the boost down a little to something that will give him a ride that he is happy with.
Regardless of what power he was going to leave for street driving, that is his decision!
In the last year that I have gotten to know Geoff and the other guys at Full-Race, they are very straight forward, help the other guy out people. If I could think of one word to describe how Geoff is with his work, it would be: perfectionist.
If it is not exactly how he imagened it in his head, or how he thought it should performed, then it is back to the drawing board. He likes to prove that things you think could not be done are very much possible.
If there were more people like this around, maybe there wouldn't be so much damn negativity!
Good luck Geoff, and as always thanks.
Jason Leslie

Hey geoff, What did you torque your ARP head studs to? Did you use LS acl bearings with the ls crank and rods?
