Re: Earl Laskey---
Earl was such a tremendous friend to me in my old business, and was basically responsible for helping get EFI University started and become what it is today.
When I heard the news my mind was flooded with so many memories of good times we had together all over the country.
Of all the time we spent together, the two best memories I have were when Mike won the race against Kenny Tran in Dallas and Earl and I missed our flight home because of it...he was jumping up and down on the starting line like a high school cheerleader!
The second was the look on his face when I got him out on the ice skating rink at Rockefeller Center in NYC when he was about 58 or 59 years old! It was hilarius!
Man, the memories just keep coming and at times it can be hard to choke back the tears. I owe him more than I could ever repay for the friendship he gave me.
I for one, have lost a true friend.
R.I.P. Earl

Wow, this is not what I expected to see when I got online tonight... What a shocker... Earl was a great guy... Very kind, and very knowledgeable... I turned to him many times when I needed advice, and he was always more than willing to help... He will truely be missed not only by his friends and family, but also by the import drag racing community... My condolences go out to his family... He will be missed...
Rest In Peace Earl...

I keep waiting for this to be a joke..... seriously I just talked to him at SEMA like 3 weeks ago. Damn, I ordered 3 bearing sets from Earl just 2 weeks ago, this just feels so weird .
RIP Earl, I'll miss the joking conversations, that's for sure , wish I could talk to you one last time yO!

I don't know how Earl had the time to help all of the people that he so willingly assisted. Somehow talking with him was always like going to the top of the mountain to find the secrets of Honda life. He was so selfless.
May his view form the mountain top always be clear!

Damn. RIP. You are in a better place now.
Purchased a few things through Mike and went smoother then ever. Keep your head up and stay strong Mike. I can't imagine what it must feel like to lose a great father.

Re: (Reid@KAIZENSPEED)
WOW this is a sad day! Ive lost a few people close to me and it is the worst feeling in the world. i know nothing anyone says can make it better, but just know his devotion and everything he did touched people and changed the world of racing forever!
i remember back when i was doing my engine build a few years ago when everyone would say its not a good one to build. he helped me design custom piston specs as well as the best sleeve job, and rods. im still rocking this engine today!
RIP today and forever...
now he can help my boy, and many others design their bad *** build in heaven!

Re: (fastludeh22)
I think this image speaks a lot of the type of guy he was. He did all of this for his son. It seems from the photo as if they have one vision.

Wow...I had to read the topic title over and over to take that in, I couldn't believe it. Earl helped me out with pointers when I was building my 2.1L N/A setup, some things I would have never thought of, but helped tremendously. He ALWAYS had an answer for everyone and helped whenever he could. One of the most helpful, talented and friendliest people on the boards...you will be missed but certainly not forgotten Earl.

Wow. I am truly shocked! My deepest condolences to his family. Earl was the most helpful person I knew from Honda-Tech. I had spoken to him on the phone many times and bought many parts from him. It wont be the same without him.
I took the time to find Earl's last thread ever on Honda-Tech.com to serve as a marker of an end of an era.

This just can't be true. Earl was the greatest person. He always made the time to help me out. No question was ever a dumb question, he was always so patient and willing to help at all cost, even giving his personal number away to guide people thru any process he could help with, without him I would be lost. Earl is the greatest and will always be in my book. Thanks for everything Earl!
