Re: (xenocron)
Who upgrades their manifold and exhaust without having a fuel system that can keep you safe? Seriously: if you have a shitass wastegate and you're running some huge-length runner manifold with a massive downpipe and exhaust - or even worse, a cutout - you'd think you'd know that you were going to boost creep.
I guess common sense isn't so common these days, is it?

Re: (Archidictus)
ok, im running a 7 psi spring. it was holding 10ish. that was fine. 12 psi was fine, still 12-12.2 a /f. 15, not fine. i knew it was gonna creep. it did it predictably. 9-10 up to 12. something was going on, it hit 15. or something like that
i have 550's, which are a little better, but they happen to be correct injects, and they broke. the 450s were in there till i could work something out to replace my 550s.
i was fully aware that i was on the upper limit of my fuel system, which is why im not mad. the block was gonna get sleeved by the summer anyway, at least this way its in the offseason for downtime.
bover, ill be back in about a month or so with it, look for at least 400whp from me, so get that vr turbo ready

I'm running uberdata with my turbo itr and the boost cut is set at a specific psi. When you reach that psi, the ecu does a rev limiter kinda thing.
It sucks, but it's better than nothing - and damn sure better than overboosting!
Sorry about your loss man. Hopefully you can come back stronger than before.

its one of our friends. 2000 s4, aftermarket turboback exhaust, chip, intake, some other random ****. 15-18 psi. i was a little behind his back bumper ,when we started halfway through my 3rd gear. i was slowly creeping on him, i was just starting to get ahead at 7k(had about a fender on him) in my 4th, i jumped a car out of nowhere, then bang.

Next time install a popoff valve. If the wastegate isn't good enough and you start to creep, the valve will bleed off excessive boost.
I know, it's not a new idea, but if people would use them they wouldn't blow motors nearly as often.
