Catch can problem, need too know what you guys setup are.
aright so i need some info from you guys im runing a b16a turbo with around 300whp and i recently installed a catch can. i installed one with a breather and 2 lines from behind the block and one from the stock nipple on the valve cover.
But realise that damm the catch can gets filled up all the time when i push the car hard and sometimes the breather spits oil. so now i put the catch can sideways so she empty her self back from behind the block but dont want to leave it like that for long because i dont think its really good.
So yeah would like to know what kind of setup you guys run and that i should run.
let me know
thanx

Re: Catch can problem, need too know what you guys setup are. (elementb16a)
im having the same trouble i used honda oem fittings on the block and i think that im going to try and get the ones that come in the endyne kit but I would also like to know what this could be from my set up is a ls bottom end sleeved 84.5mm b16 head 20-25psi for now. After a few hard pulls my car was leaving little oil spots on the ground and when i looked the catch can had like sprayed all over the bay. I searched and it seemed i needed the fittings from the other kit but i wonder if that will fix it or not. could it be the can design its this one http://www.jmfabrications.com/...id=37
thanks
thanks

How big is the inside diameter or the return hoses??? I was running into the same problem with the Endyne, so I changed the fittings and ran AN fittings throughout with -10. No more oil leaking issues so far.

moe important question is why the hell are you completely filling up a catch can with oil in the first place, 28psi on my car and i had about a 1/4 inch of liquid in mine after a month, so i took it off

I ditched my catch can for the Mr. Gasket exhaust evac kit. Its working great so far, i just plumb it up and forget about it!
Unlike my previous attempts at making an exhaust evac system, the Mr. Gasket kit comes with slash cut tubes that are 5/8", they really pull some vacume too.

where are the 2 lines off of the catch tank goin? i see the one off of the v.c. but if the other is just goin back to the block, there is no where for the pressure to go.
i recomend atleast the endyn kit.
old setup
this is what i am working on:

Yeah, I did quite a bit of research on this subject myself because I'll be running a high comp/high boost setup. From what I've discovered it's all about how big the lines are that you run and how free flowing the setup is. If you have big enough lines (i'd say -10an in your case) the engine should be able to flow out the excess pressure just fine without any oil even leaving the motor typically.

i dont think it is letting out the pressure fast enough
thats a small port and a lot coming in.
yo already have the block fittings, are they the honda fittings or the old endyn /z 10 fittings?

Here is my custom Moroso setup. The can was $70 but the fittings/lines brought the grand total to $250. Not bad since the endyn kit is $190 and it uses rubber lines. I can't say how well it works just yet, I haven't pushed things to 25psi or about 500whp. Mase is going to tune it next weekend so I'll let you know how that goes.

Re: (boostedcivicsir)
I only used a small moroso can so I was able to make it easily fit with the buddy club battery in my pics. I recently switched and BARELY got an acura battery to fit.

The thread pitch on the block fittings is 28mm x 1.0mm. I had a member on here weld steel -AN fittings to the OEM plugs

the stock honda fittings (the ones that come with the endyn kit) will accomidate a -8 line fine, and can clamp a -10 to them also.
