Boost gauge reacting slow?????????
ok on my jrsc everyt mechanical gauge i hook up reacts slowly its not fast like going from vaccuum to boost its slow but i know other peoples are quicker . is there a reason for this???? i have it hooked up directly to the intake manifold and not the FPR i dont think so. Would it also matter if the nylon hose that came with the gaue was used only part of the way and then inserted into a rubber line?? and then the rubber line went to the manifold. let me know cause the gauge is acting slow.

the only thing I can think of is that there is a kink in the line somewherecheck behind the gauge if its in the dash, pull it out see if it reacts faster than when its in, it could be that it is because its a JRSC and the blower is built into the manifold, theres a valve that opens once pressure builds. that valve induces boost, these are just options, try another boost gauge without a step in the line.

if the guage reacts fast while in vacuum and just slow in positive boost then its probably accurate. the gauge should react instantenously when you stab the throttle. if it jump to 0psi very fast then slowly climbs into boost then it sounds like thats causued by something mechanical.

so a small kink in the hose would make the gauge do this???? make it act slow
cause yes its slow then when i slam the gas it jumps to 0 then then builds but it s
should just jump to the boost
And if were to not use the nylon hose what would be the best way to attach a rubber vac line to the back of the gauge ?????? let me know

i remember when i was messing with my oil pressure gauge that when i used the regular nylon tubing the guage was slow. however when i used a constant hose with a bigger diameter the gauge was faster. so you having the nylon and then the rubber could be slowing it down if they are of different size. But maybe its different because mine was liquid and yours is gas...

maybe check the vacuum line that goes to the boost gauge...i just checked mine today, and I saw some oil buildup in there...time for a catch can...

some gauges just react differently though. i remember awhile back i switched from a shitty old autometer to a new ultra-lite. i didn't change the tubing, just detached one and hooked up the other. i noticed a significant time delay with the new one.

Is this a GSR ?
Im not sure about other B series but I know gsr's have that plastic vacuum block under the intake manifold.
If you remove that the gauge will act normal. 0 as soon as you punch it.
Me and my brother discovered this when boosting his Gsr.

yeh but did u drive around with the new rubber line setup right to the gauge? or did you just free rev it?
I never used that poly tubing, from the get go i used rubber line from gauge to IM and have never had troubles.
