Not going to fit much behind the oem support like TehShodan said, I would say the mini 6" cores will be about the most you will fit in there just like the USDM front/stock support.

i run a 24x12x4 on my car.... i removed the bumper support, made my own headlight/bumper supports, and had to trim the bumper but could still leave the main "bar" that goes through the center of the bumper, just had to remove the black verical supports. the end tanks were brought "in" to make clearance too.
your not going to fit much of anything with out modifying stuff....but you dont have to cut the whole bumper appart like a civic.
damnit, this is the only picture i could find which is really of no help.

I found this pic on cardomain. What size do you think this intercooler is? Looks like a perfect fit.

I used a Treadstone TR8 intercooler, but I had to cut and reweld the bumper support bar to get it to fit without cutting the bumper cover.

i just posted these in the other thread about JDM fronts and intercooler size, but ill post them here too.
if you look close, about 2-3 inches below the top of the IC, BEHIND it, you will see the bumper support. JDM cars dont have 5mph crash supports like USDM cars.

Re: Biggest Intercooler w/JDM Teg front end
Size isn't everything.
Get something that fits within the bumper without cutting, and if you have big issues with heat then you picked too small.
I ran a very small intercooler. 24x8x2.5 and still made 440whp last year on 24psi of boost with a log manifold. Upgrading didn't make a huge difference. Power stayed within 10whp as long as i didn't do pull after pull trying to heat-soak the intercooler.

what are your power goals? You do not need a Precision 750 for a car that you plan to make 4-500 horsepower with.

Nice, most jdm fronts I seen people cut out the side ducts on the front of the bumper. I am trying to avoid this as well and run my new precision 750 too. The only way I see this is modding the piping.

Re: Biggest Intercooler w/JDM Teg front end
On the dyno, you only perform one steady pull in 4th gear.
On the street or track, one drag pass is 1st/2nd/3rd/4th gear pull. If you do 3-4 pulls back-to-back on the dyno with no rest time and the engine keeps losing power (say 10-15%), then your intercooler is too small.
What this does, is that although you had 440 WHP, you will trap about the same MPH as a 390-400 WHP car. The intercooler will heat up at the top-end.
And don't even bother trying to circuit race the car on a road course with a small FMIC. 1-2 laps later, and your IAT's will skyrocket and your tune will be way off (unless you had the car tuned on the dyno for endurance racing conditions).
I do agree with you though that bigger is not always better. A big intercooler without proper airflow to the full surface of the core completely renders it useless. So if the bumper is blocking airflow and there is no direct air going through the core, then do it like Porsche or other mid-engine turbo cars and stick a high CFM fan behind it (that's what I have on my 31" x 12" x 4" FMIC). I sometimes circuit the car with 650 WHP depending on the track conditions and my IAT's and coolant temps are great. I have a USDM front as well with no front grill.
