AEM Tru Boost Boost controller
anyone got one or using one? i would like to see how it reads vacuum and boost. searched can't find anything. i have a defi gauge now, i want to see if this boost controller is worth me getting ride of my gauge.

I made this same post 3 days ago. No one has said anything on my post either. I think I'm going to get one and see how it works. AEM is a good brand and their products usually are great so this shouldn't be any different.

I think the product is to new (didn’t it just get released like a week or two ago?) for you to find someone that can really explain if it’s good or not.
I just looked on the AEM forums and they are having the same problem. They can’t get anyone to respond about the Tru Boost Controller

Yeah thats what I was thinking....its too new. But oh well I think I'm gonna go for it just because it can fit in a gauge pod and it looks pretty good too. It's AEM so it should most likely be good.

I tuned a car with this boost controller over the weekend and I'm not sure if it was operator error (the car's owner was ajusting it) or what but it was spiking boost about 5 psi over what it was set for.
Kinda sucks because it seems like there is no WG Solenoid Duty Cycle gain control or anything with this unit.

I personally think that it is to new and probably has bugs that would need to be worked out before I would trust it.

I just got mine later part of last week. I haven't installed it yet but I'm definately anxious too. I sure hope it doesn't spike like a previous post says it does, I will not be happy. Although, it seems very solid and user friendly... God I hope it doesn't spike...

I shouldn’t have used the word "better" but more along the line of better for the price. I cannot justify spending close to 1K for a boost controller for a street car, and most people wont.
Most of the people on Honda-Tech are not going to spend $850 plus shipping for a boost controller.

Better was the word that gathered my attention. Yes there are other boost controllers out there that costs less and will increase boost as well as have other options. They will not control boost as well as ours , nor do they have the flexibility that our controller has.
You dont know what your missing until youve tried it. 850.00 for what your getting is a steal. 2 boost controllers in 1 unit, free software upgrades . You will never have an outdated unit.

$850??? I'm on a budget and there's no way I can work that in just for a boost controller. I didn't even spend that much on my rods and pistons, or my turbo... If this AEM controller I got doesn't work right I'm just gonna get a hallman mbc and call it day.

See, I've always heard that the turboxs MBC's have a good amount of spike not to mention the pain in having to adjust with a stupid allen wrench.

But I still heard (and have seen) that MBC don't regulate boost as well as electronic ones because they don't have a solenoid that pulsates which regulates boost better. So under little load they can spike or not hold boost like they should. This is the whole reason I want an electronic one

Back to life. I still haven't had a chance to install mine, it's going to be another month or so. Has anyone else used the AEM True Boost yet? Any problems?

I posted in another post about my experience with the AEM boost controller. I ditched it and bought a E-boost 2 from Forcedinductions and never have looked back. I like it much better and you can control sensitivity and also preset gate pressure, plus control nitrous or methanol if needed.
