Re: (abnaasefmb)
Sr20 is much nicer engine then the Rb20.
Fullstop
Have seen plenty in person and the sr certainly come off better. Sr makes more power and has much less problems.
A friend mine was so disappointed with his factory Rb20det powered cefiro that he was attempting to replace with a SR.

The supra and the 240 belong to the same guy. The supra runs high 9s on 18" wheels. The supra is on a 71GTQ if I remember correctly, built motor, TH400, 264 cams and a 150shot
The 240 has a 10:1 2JZ, 272s, 74GTS, 120 shot, stock head, custom intake manifold, TH350, and AEM EMS. The 240 has gone a 9.2 with a best MPH of 156 on MT drag radials.

Interesting stuff, just stumbled upon this thread.
Props to something new VtecKiDD.
The 2JZ is a beast of a motor. My dad and I have gone through his 2JZ with the intention of making the most HP using stock turbo's. You do not need a big turbo to make big power with the 2JZ, and most importantly, you get 15psi at 2300rpm's using the sequential setup.
Here is our latest dyno. 540whp/547wtq. Blue is what the car was making roughly 2 years earlier.
FWIW I know of one Supra owner who is making 940whp on a stock block and has made dozens of drag passes, although that IS pushing the limits of the motor.
Oh, and the I would try and make all efforts to use the 2JZ 6spd. That is the strongest manual gearbox I have seen. Untouched it can handle 1300-1400whp easily, as well as the rear diff.

Re: (Pat McGroin)
Exactly what I was thinking.... I love that Air/Water Intercooler though...
I trust you know what you are talking about when you say the s14 2jz swap handles well but I am still interested in the weight dis. if you can find those numbers....
As for MidShip... he bashes everyone else's projects on the forums because he can't show you his small dick in real life....
His projects are way more insane and much more pointless...
to VtecKidd and his shop

Re: (92TypeR)
I won't say anything about the handling business, as that would require hearing from the owner or an experienced track driver, but I am curious as to the claim of only 100lbs difference between the SR and the 2JZ. Iron block + 2 cylinders + an extra turbo, just doesn't seem to add up to 100lbs or less.
And 92TypeR, looks like you sacrificed a crapload of lower end power with that new setup. Were you shooting for peak numbers or what?

i like this swap in the s14 but not as much in the s13. I6 motors are cursed in the s13 to me since my friend swapped an rb25 and crashed at 3 consecutive events, wrecked 2 cars, and wound up in the hospital bleeding from his ears. and to all the haters, expletive em. im coming up on finishing my SR corolla, people will hate it but who cares, i wont be driving a slow *** corolla anymore. some people like to have power, nothin wrong with that.

100 octane

It actually has better performance with the setup now, the gearing never drops the RPM's below 4500 between shifts, and the sequential powerband is so funky that you rarely want to be in that transition anyways. Picked up 4mph in trap speeds, and you can really feel that the power doesn't fall off.
