Default *****CAR WONT GO OVER 3K RPMS*****

car wont go over 3k rpms jus as the title says, sounds like it has 2step on idle once i rev it up and when the car is rolling i try to hit over 3k it jus backfires black smoke. boost vac is 20, but the boost gauge is tellin me its kinda touchy like to much boost if anything but idk. no shaft play, sensors, plugs, wiring has been check everything is right on.. idk bout the ecu i havent tryed another yet. anyone here kno what the problem would be?

97 gsr 7lb of boost.

thanks in advance!

did you just slap a turbo on the car with no tuning on a stock ecu?

Take it to a tuner before you regret it. You can ruin a untuned motor in minutes.

Check if you have any ECU codes. Code 4 (CKP) will not let you rev over ~3k. Could also be the chipping job. Cut J1 on the ECU to return it to stock and try reving slowly towards 3k (slowly because you will be testing on stock code and you don't want to boost during the testing). You will need to resolder J1 after you are finished.

If it turns out to be the ECU, I can fix it for you - PM me.

i love how some people just think that you can bolt a turbo on a car and the computer will take care of the rest lol

a stock ecu, or even a NA chip, will never allow you to go into positive pressure once the map sensor see's 1psi, thats the reason he isnt revving. You have to have a boost table in your tune for the computer to be able to read boost from the map sensor.

okay i fixed the problem car now runs fine the following wires were depinned from the jumper harness, prob from ppl stepping at the wrong spot.
B2
B11
B12
B15
B16
( source: http://www.superhonda.com/forum/f55/...inouts-217405/ )

BUT, however; the car idles kinda funny' but rarely when its cold it pulses, but when its warm its normal also when im driving and step on the gas firmly it kinda feels like it gets a fuel cut off, it sputters and backfires, or even jus stalls for about a sec then regains speed . but if i drive nd slightly step on the gas it drives fine.
what would be the problem? did i have to repin all of those wires or do some of them require a bypass due to turbo.

The problem is you havnt had your car tuned, im not sure why after reading the comments above you are still driving the car...if your haven't already damaged your motor get it tuned properly.

Do not WOT the car without tuning it, you will destroy your motor in seconds on a un-tuned turbocharged engine...i feel this thread is a joke but if your serious...stop driving it and tow it to a tuner.

what does your air fuel ratio gauge tell you about the AFR

its in between the rich and lean. its street tune its running only 7lbs with stock pistons, i heard u didnt need to tune it unless the motor is built more. either that unless it was i didnt need pistons unless it was running more lbs.

Im assuming a crome chip. Really that is your underlying problem i guarantee it. Not an issue with anything on the engine

the car has been running fine for awhile now on the street tune. only happened after that axle incident someone prob ****ed with my car while it was parked or something. i re pinned the listed numbers of the obd2a to obd1 jumper harness could it be that the fuel cut off is due to one of those pins that maybe didnt need to be plugged but i plugged them in anyway?

im running a 97 gsr swap on a 96 integra
18g turbo ~ 7lb of boost
obd2a to obd1 jumper harness.

(maybe some ******* gave me regular unleaded fuel on accident?)
