did a swap for a customer. customer was acknowledging loss of power and complaints of "not all the power was there."

the swap was a b16 swap, in an integra. please dont ask i have no clue why or how this 1.6 ended up in this car. but when the motor was out, i swapped in a poor mans itr with a ported and polished b16 head. there were suspicions of other non oem work done to the motor after install such as cams and piston work but these were not the culprit to the current situation at hand.

once he motor was installed, it took a few cranks to fire it up due to the car sitting for a while. there was also mention of gas being sitting in the tank for about 8 months. which raised a question mark initially.

long story short the car reads only ~20psi from the gauge hooked up to the filter and misses and ***** flames out the header as if it were on 2 step mode(stock p28 from my understanding) it even did the same thing on my chipped lsv p06.

timing is spot on, started right up on the 2nd time, and sounded almost like it was cammed and talking for a while. then a low idle crept into place. its responsive when the throttle is feathered like 15/20% and can be revved with fast throttle fluctuations and what not. but no clean pass can be made.

once a sharp w.o.t is enacted, you can see orange/blueish backfire in the intake manifold, then once you back off it travels down and out to the header(open header at the time of install)

any ideas guys? im assuming its the fuel pump.

Is this on a CROME Gold ROM? Every Gold ROM I have tried to make since the latest update runs super rich and won't rev. P30 maps work just like before.

I'm using basemaps from full tunes that I know are already working, but I haven't had any trouble with Gold ROMs in 1.6.11.

OP: If this is a stock P28 then there should be a trouble code. If the CEL isn't on then he took out the bulb, because there's no way in hell it wouldn't throw a code if it's running like this.

Fuel pressure is kinda low. What do the spark plugs look like? While they are out for s***s and giggles check compression. Nothing against you but is cam timing and valve adjustment correct?

yes its all on stock cam gears. so timing is spot on. ill have to check the plugs, and yes the pressure is around 20psi

Just because it is on stock cams doesn't mean your timing is correct. Take the cover off and check to make sure all your timing marks are lining up. Also are you sure you have the plug wires in the correct location?

I find this interesting because I am doing the same - importing maps from ROMs that already work. I have tried burning a chip and using the Ostrich and I get the same results with Gold - extremely rich. If I put in a chip or use the Ostrich with a P30 base map and import tables it works fine. I have CROME Dealer, but I guess I will keep looking at it or just revert back to an older version worst case.

Taking a few known working parts to the car on Sunday and testing it out.

I'd start by fixing that fuel pressure ~20psi is HALF of what it should be and indicates a serious issue. With a trainwreck like that I'd be fixing one thing at a time...

Funny thing about that new update, a couple people I know using counterfeit reg strings came across the same problem. If you have a legit dealer registration, just try reinstalling it, and/or run in compatibility mode.

Plugs got fouled out so car wouldn't start at all. Then cleaned em up and got the car to start. I noticed when priming the pressure, it would shoot up to 30 at prime. Then it would drop back down. Also when I take the FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR CAVOUR LINE OFF, the pressure would shoot back up to 30ish psi and the motor would sound like it wanted to run better.

Any idea?

Is it an adjustable regulator by any chance?
Clogged fuel filter?
Problem with fuel pump?
Line cut inside the tank on the fuel pump?

I think there may be two problems. Problem 1 fueling above. Problem 2 timing is off on the motor.

Problems were chunks of debris in the lines. Compressed air foxed that.

New plugs and filter

Now we need a regulator because the vaccum line was removed and the car sounded better

If you are still having a low fuel pressure problem the solution is not an adjustable regulator. There is still something not right in the fuel system. Fuel pressure line in the tank or the pump itself.

Since you most likely don't have a puddle of fuel under the car. I would check the feed line inside the actual tank. I have seen a lot of cars where the feed line is the problem. It may also be the fuel pump is starting to give out.
