trouble with idle
i been tuning for awhile and i use crome, i setup my car very well, b16a with gsr cams and blox intake and 68mm throttle. bottom end is stock 10.2:1, i'm planning on turbo it, then i have a gsr block that i building. long story short.
my b16a head is built match port and skunk2 pro valves, pro spring and retainer. so i decide to go with some pro 1 cams, becuz skunk2 told me that cams work very well with turbo charged engine. but they did say pro 1 was way too big of cams for my motor for NA, beyond the point, i know they are big cams and i don't have the cr to push them for the moment, but if i gain 5hp, is fine, but mainly i wanted the cams in the and run for now and break them in nicely before i start boosting.
after i install them i set them 0,0. so i got them put on, and i know they are rough on idle, but hell i didn't expect couldn't keep it running, it lop very bad, and i have to keep gas press to keep it on idle, but pass 1500 they will run smooth, no problem.
i kept my tuned map for the gsr cams, and i getting a very rich reading 7.30 which i don't know my wideband is acting up or what, so i lean it out a bit, and still won't idle, but the more i start to lean engine start to smooth out. but i still at 7.3, so i re load the map back to my tuned map, and still running like crap, so i rich out few step(i only increase or decrease very small point at a time) it run worst. what werid is, i turn off the car and when i start my wideband will read 16.7-9 then it goes to 7.3
anyway. i having trouble gettting it running the way it should, those are gen 3 cams and they suppose to idle compare to the old skunk. i even start a stock map and try from there. and still same reason.
another thing to i went ahead disable to vtec speed check, and lower to 3000, to see vtec is ok, as soon i hit it, it bog, bad.
also motor heat up a lot faster then it have been, so i think is running lean. but not sure.
my question is what i looking for? ignition need adjust? i know i always aim for 14.7 on idle. but any suggestion??

Re: trouble with idle
to figure out if it's a wideband problem or not, while watching the wideband, pull fuel out of the idle cells until it either dies or leans out. If it dies but still shows 7.3 you know it's too lean and you have a wideband problem. If it actually is idling at 7.3 AFR, that is WAY too rich.
