Re: where is full race pinks pink car?
Who cares if speed machine was sandbagging, that was all part of the show. I guess you can call it stratagy?
I remember when i got the call that Matt and Dave had won the full race civic, i was curious on the car it self.
They sold the full race car shortly after they got it. I recall someone here locally in SD bought it, i guess off ebay? Regardless, it got sold and soon after the kid blew the car. Soon it was back at speed machine and they were going through it again. I remember the port job on the head was pretty f@cking extreme. Who ever ported the head spent a crap load of time and OPENED it up pretty big.
Soon after that, the car ended up here being parted out like someone mentioned.
As far as Matt and Dave's RX7 it was pretty much just built with scraps from the shop literally. A gutted FC, a core motor that Dave ported and rebuilt, ebay intercooler and hand me down turbo and wastegates. The manifold and tubing was made in house by John Russakoff when he was working there.
One thing i do recall is that Matt didn't even have a license at the time he was driving the rx7 on the show lol
Edit:
Also more input here, one of the many threads on this:

Not that it matters... But the speedmachine car was a total pile, barely ran, prob was making about 250hp. We were not sandbagging at all, the car was just slow haha. The motor lost compression on one face on the dyno the day before we left to the show. It made about 400 before it broke. The fullrace car would have whooped the he'll out of our car if it hadn't completely blown off the coupler, but that what you get with a backdoor turbo setup that didn't line up at all. So basically the civic was completely na during the show. When we got the civic back to the shop I threw the coupler back on and took it for a ride... One of the wheels was so bent you had to hold on with both hands just to keep the car straight. But it was still very fast.

nope left it alone. I had it retuned cause it was redlining at 8500 and i needed 9500 to get through the traps in 4th.
Ive been thinking about selling it. I want a car i can have go out and have fun in and i dont even want to drive this car at all. I think i put 15 miles on it since i bought it from geoff
