Update: Im using a 4 port MAC solenoid using Neptune to drive it. I have a 3psi wg spring and my range is ~24psi at 72% duty - Thats 8x Using boost by gear I have FULL traction in every gear including 1st!

Muckman, would you mind sharing the source of where you got your valve? I use to have a source for the 45 series bookmarked but they no longer carry the Mac brand. Is the part number your using the 46a-aa2-Jdda-1ba # that was posted earlier in the thread? Thanks.
Edit: I found what I think is the correct part numbers from a Mac catalog
46a-aa1-jdba-1ba ( flying leads) or 46a -aa1-jdba-1gd ( plug in harness)

You wont have good control with just one solenoid.
Its better to install two solenoids for top and bottom.
Just need to make a duty table to control the bottom port when the top of the gate is Max out on duty, very simple to do on the AEM.

Re: What are people using for boost control for wide range of psi?
I've read the whole thread and am a bit confused. Just wondering how I could set up for speed dependent boost control using a selenoid? My setup is very humble and I'm just starting out with my first turbo experience. I'm boosting a HOnda oddy with a jdm f22b 2.2 liter 4 cyl engine. Got a t3 garrett, Synapse BOV and Synapse 44mm WG. For my Fuel management, I've purchase an B&M Fpr (mod spring) and the Fp guage and I've got a turbo basemap (from a guy on ebay with experince) for the chipped p75 ecu. I don't like to use Fmu or the missing link (too primative) but at the same time, I'm not ready to buy the hondata. However, since I've got an automatic tranny, i want to be able to have a realiable boost management system. I'm reading about how you're all using selenoids to control boost. Now for my setup, is it remotely possible to connect the Synapse 44mm wastegate to a selenoid and somehow control it with the ECU (chrome based)? Sorry for the confusion.. If someone could enlighten me, i'd be greatful.

Re: What are people using for boost control for wide range of psi?
I will do so, however, can I still connect the 3 way or 4-way solenoid valve btw the wg and the boost source. I was looking at getting the Turbosmart eboost 2 (racing gauge). I believe it comes with it's own solenoid valve and I can set it to run different boosts at differ rpms. I understand boost by gear needs another ecu (instead of a chipped p75). Is the eboost2 too much for low boost(5-7 psi only) application? Sorry for the newbie questions but I really want to get something safe as this is my only drive (HOnda oddy 97 with jdm f22b stock internals).
thanks

Analyzing my datalogs, I realized I only had pump gas datalogs. When I get it on race gas next time at the track Ill for sure get some Datalogs and post back. Its nice when you can read your datalogs and see whats happening every second of your run, really helps you to improve. 1qkfodo taught me how to read datalogs, so thanks man.

Just go the eboost2 for $380 on ebay.. But I'm still waiting for some assistance from some of you experts. I'm I on the right track for a moderate 5-7 (maybe 9 once in a while). How can I achieve that with a Synapse Synchronic 44mm WG and a Synapse BOV. If my WG has a spring that can be set to 5 psi minimum, can I use this to run 2 to 3 Psi only. Maybe, without the spring in the wg. I need to go easy as its a stock f22b engine. Someone else on another forum said that eboost2 is a waste of money and you could just get an emlulator and a data cable and chip burner to turn boost control with through ecu using chrome pro? Is that possible?

Run a 5 psi spring.

This is a great thread, thanks for all the input. I'm thinking of replacing my 3 port for better traction.

Re: What are people using for boost control for wide range of psi?
Tried doing 2 solenoids on the series2 without a secondary duty table or conditions set on energizing the second solenoid. Fractions of a percent would net 10+ PSI. Adding a separate duty table for second solenoid and switching it on after the top one maxes out would be better. Didn't think about setting it up this way. Good stuff!!
