What do you guys like for plugs these days? Copper or Iridium
Been topic ive been dealing with for a couple days now.
Ive had several cars brough to me using Iridium plugs and every single one has always had misfire issues. Ive pulled them out and threw in a fresh set of copper NGK 7's and have never had issues. I use the 7's in my personal car making 700+whp. No issues. I said something about the most recent car i tried to tune on 5lbs having iridiums on Facebook and several guys im friends with that make serious power have said Iridiums are what they use. So im curious what everyone uses and the HP level they are at using them.

I personally change plugs every event, probably over kill but that is just how I have always ran my race program.

I use the BKR8EIX because I wanted a colder resistor plug than the BKR7E. I'm not at the level of seriousness to define a maintenance plan beyond checking the gap before each race and after each pass. If they fall out of gap or if I see damage, I'd probably just replace it.

I run Copper plugs in my personal shop car, because of nitrous. When it was pure NA, I ran the 8EXI's, and also the 7's, in customers turbo or na builds we normally tend to run Resistor plugs, you want resistor plugs as they will jump the gap better, and they do perform better.

We use iridiums and dont change them unless we have a reason to. Our cars usually make a couple hp over 600 or so.

I run bkr9eix and non-resistor copper 9's depending on the budget. Generally iridium plugs I'll change when it's nessesary or if we have a misfire for some reason I'll change the plugs. Copper plugs I'll change every event and sometimes I'll throw another fresh set in when making tune changes and checking plugs. Making 800ish on e98

Does the type of ignition make a difference in your decision? I'm still on all stock ignition.

Yeah I don't know how they run those plugs at 700 either. I was running 8's and even those were showing a little warm so switched to a 9 plug. Ben perfect since

My car has been fine at over 700hp on BKR7's. BUt if everyone is getting good results out of the iridiums, i might give em a whirl.

Not quite the level of you all but been running Iridiums for a while. BKR9EIX with my f22b1 sohc turd for just a fuzz shy of 700hp and mid 500's trq.
Was on 8's and they read mostly ok but changed to 9's cause they looked a little better so staying with them for now.

10sec4door. I have been running 9's for a while. Only rams 8's for first tune and couple hits at the track and then went to the 9's. The copper race plugs work very well in my setup. The eix 9's work really well too but cost a heck of a lot more but also last longer. How long I couldn't say

BKR7E's for me, I change them after every pass. I know if the tuning is dead on, there would be no need to change them that often. I personally won't take the chance and lose due to a foul plug or run into any other issue for a part that only cost $2ea.
