Default Street radial, what to use?

I have searched but can't find what i'm looking for. I have either 14" steelies or 15" alloys.
I'm about 380whp and need something to run on the track and street.
Size, width, brand, not a huge baller but can spend the money.
Thanks for the input

Mickey Thompson Et Steets 225/50 15. These work great, I have them on my car and they stick well. I got the pair for 470 installed, balanced.

This subject has been discussed a few times in this forum.........

Nitto Neo Gens or Toyo R888 if you want a straight street tire that you can put some miles on and not have to raise up your car a lot to run. If you want to get a little crazy you could go with the 235 sized tires.

I have an eg hatch with 380whp. It sucked on BFG's. I now run MT et streets on 99-00 si alloys in 205/50/15. They fit perfect and hook extremely well on track for a radial and will dead hook second full power on the street. Got them off Amazon (Prime) for $350 shipped to my door. About 2 months ago. This is my second pair. First pair lasted about 4k miles but with prob 6 trips to drag strip and countless passes. Also have bfg radials on Gsr blades. I refuse to run them after using the mt's so I just loan them out to friends for track use...

Hope this helps.

I ran MT 225/50/15 DR's and they hooked good but they don't last long at all. MH 235-60-15 is your best bet but you have to raise the car WAY up but hook the best.

I now run the Toyo R888's and they hook 3rd gear with 450whp. They last a while to. With your power level this may be the best tire for you as well as the Toyo Ra1 I think that's what it is.

I've run the hoosier drag radials and mt et streets both 225/50/15 and I've had good luck with both. im right at 300whp and id tell you I dead hook 1st gear but I doubt you'd believe me, so I dead hook 2nd haha. also I ran about 35psi tire pressure and they were on gsr fat fives.

I like the 225/50 15's because they look a bit more normal. The Mt 225/50 are a little over 24 inches tall. The 235/60's are a little over 26 inch tall and looks goofy in my opinion. I guess I am not that dedicated to trying hook crazy on the streets, I would rather go to a track with slicks at that point

They good for track use too if I make it there this summer? Sure look decently priced and a street tire

M&h 235/60's here. Had them on my boosted car making 500hp dead hooks second gear and on my k series littery launch the car on limiter and it hooks.

225/50/15 et street

only lost .5-.7 of a second versus slicks when heated and launched right

For that power level MT 225/50s will do you well. 5-600+ you have to stop wasting time and money and just get mh 235/60s for the street. I hated the way they looked until you hook up some power...

I could not hook for **** on 225/50/15 MT et streets or BFG Drag radials when running lower power(less than 550whp). And they were murdered in about a month. Ive also tried the toyos that were mentioned, no luck on those either

I ran some Hoosier QTPs last set of tires, they hook decent at 6-650ish whp for 3rd gear pulls. MHs are back on my car now and they hook better IMO.

One thing worth mentioning about the MH is they are bias ply, and for those who have never run a tire like that before, handling sucks compared to a radial and they seem to not like the dyno. My .02 cents.

Ive gone through alot of tires lol

You have to remember he is talking about a 380whp car right now.....If I can dead hook 3rd gear with 450whp I think the toyo r888 will be plenty of tire for him

True, at that HP level traction is not much of an issue

If you're looking for a longer lasting true street tire, the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11A are surprisingly good. We had a 650~whp EK that had them and i was always really impressed at how well it hooked for the type of that tire that it was.

I had good luck with the MT street radials. Also have heard a lot of good things about the M&H street & strip tires and that's what im gonna be trying on my new setup.
