Re: Stock LS turbo just went to the track
Once you switch to S300, start out at 9 psi and work your way down, leaving at 12 psi of pressure with alot of boost "might" cause the slick to hop at that pressure.

Re: Stock LS turbo just went to the track
I had a ramhorn it cracked all the time
I made a log and it spools up 600rpm sooner- but i'll probably make a minimee when i get some extra time or maybee a top mount
im runing a gsr tranny and a hondata 4BD and im probably making 2 psi boost at the line
i couldn't make much more the clutch is a little sick (read 6 puck unsprung daily driven for a couple years)

Re: Stock LS turbo just went to the track
well i think the headgasket is blown
i just put a bigger wg spring in and i just got back from going down the street,
the catch can is over flowing and the radiator hases are swolen
im going to do a leakdown test tomorrow but im shure it's the hg so should i put a new oem hg on it and roll on or should i save my money for the hg head studs and bearings for my sleeved motor?
i dunno i was ready to turn the boost up some more and now this has me discouraged

Out of curiousity when you blew the headgasket were you still running the same amount of boost or did you raise it up past 20? I know you said you changed the spring but didn't say what you brought the boost up to.

Re: Stock LS turbo just went to the track
i'm pretty shure it blew at the track bc i was hot lapping her pretty hard
7 runs with less than 10 mins between each run. my cheap clear dist cap melted from the heat- and my cf hood got super soft
i noticed after the 4th pass that there was some oil blowing out of the black can on the back of the block and burning on my downpipe. But i thought that was from sitting on the rev limiter at the line and not having big enough lines going to the catch can
when i drove her last night i had just put a sml blue in the wg so i turned the boost controler down about half way (12lbs) and i inched it up to 21 after a few more pulls
when i got back to the house the catch can was full well **** i guess no dyno tomorrow

You might want to see about checking the ringlands. I did the same thing as you, except I wasn't hot lapping. Wasn't tuned to 27psi. But loved 21psi. If you plan on sticking to the ls, for sure get headsteads.

Maybe slightly overtorque the head in small steps, seems to help in high boost situations. Also I use copper spray on the HG, it can't hurt anything and it's cheap.
