Default sport compact racing has lost a great friend

I had just gotten word that Jose Rodriguez from Horse Power Connection passed away last night. The details are a lil scetchy but from what im told he put the car up on jack stands and they failed droping a car onto him while he worked under it. Please say a prayer for him,

RIP Jose

Thank you for all your help with my car if it wasnt for you It would still be sitting in pieces

You were the most dedicated and determind racer I knew, and will probably ever know.. You never let anything keep u from the track..

RIP..

Prayers go out to his friends and family.

This reminds me:

I suggest to alot of new or novice racers working on their cars at events to properly secure them jacked up. I've seen so many cars/people in the pits work underneath their car with their autozone $50.00 jack and no jackstands. Worst case if you have to .. atleast throw your tires underneath the car.. I would hate to see anyone or hear about someone being trapped..

i dont even know what to say. Jose was like a brother to me. We have been pretty much best friends for a long time. Whatever we needed we were there for each other. he will be missed by many. hopefully his brother and i can finish his new spfwd car for him and get it into the 9's like he wanted. the car had just made 776hp 530trq just a few nights ago. too bad he didnt get to enjoy it..

Sounds like he was doing everything right but accidents happen.

Great reminder though for guys that work on cars without jack stands.
