new to the site and newto performance Honda world. Came from the diesel world so I know some power lol. Anyway I have a 93 accord with the the f22a. It's a pretty serious car and build that has been in the works. I bought the car a while back with all the engine stuff built. Here is what I'm working with...

F22a with darton mid sleeves,85.5mm weisco race Pistons, crower aluminum rods, stock crank, balencer shaft delete has high oil pressure, Honda bearings, it's a fully ported head with a h23 upper intake all gutted and ported, custom springs for the delta 272 cam, it has a old school btm msd box for timing that I really have not used, 2200cc gram injectors, arm fuel rail, stock regulator stock lines, walbro 450 e85 in tank pump, for air I'm using a 71mm turbo with a custom built manifold. Unknown brand of ic.

So the problem is that I keep on blowing the head gasket with the stock gasket and the bigger bore from a f23 gasket as well. Copper coated them and it still is putting compression in the coolant. It blows it out on the front and back just not between the cylinders. I am running a old set of arp studs from a h23 cause they don't make f22a studs that I can find. And this is only blowing at 18psi of boost. So I'm in need of some help here guys. Here is the Dyno sheet from yesterday. Only 2 pulls until the gasket let go again. And of course some pictures of the car. So any help on how to seal this up would be great

I did not notice head studs in your parts list if you don't have those get some. I know several people running factory Honda head gasket with making substantial amounts of power.

Yes I am but they are about 8 years old but still tightened up just fine at 90ftlbs with a stock mls gasket from a f23 as well as f22a. Held better with the f23

Try a new set, the old studs might tighten down, but are probably stretched.

Ok any thoughts on the headgasket? With my 85.5 bore the stock gasket is only .5mm bigger should I go like 87mm gasket?

Yes they do! 555hp on only 18psi and I'm shooting for 30+ should be a very powerful ride. Boost comes on so quick too

I would lean towards the head studs being the issue...

You have an 85.5 bore and running a 86mm gasket hmm

Cometic MLS gasket is hard to beat...

I do know sometimes 1/2 sizes on custom head gaskets get finicky at times...

Get the correct headgasket for your build. If you are 85.5mm F22A get a 85.5mm F22 Cometic Headgasket MLS. There may be something also different between F23 and F22 giving you and issue? Always want to use the headgasket that goes with the head. They are $110 roughly for custom one from Cometic

So the correct spec for stock bore is 85mm stock headgasket is 86mm. So with the 85.5mm bore I have the f23 gasket is 86.5. Which puts me back in the range of stock spec. Or is my logic wrong?

Getting new head studs would be the first thing to do, those old ones are probably stretched out and useless. If the problem still persists then find out from a machine shop if the head and deck are flat.

New studs just showed up today. And yeah head and deck are flat about .001 on head

If you cant get this figured out you might try getting the block CSS'd. The CSS is press fit onto a machined ledge and greatly increases the amount of the head gasket that gets crushed.

CSS is form of special block guard... he didn't read you already have Darton sleeves...

You have a F22 Motor...Bottom and Head....correct.... you want a F22 90-93 Head Gasket 85.5mm bore if that is your current bore. Cometic MLS headgasket...

If the stock F22 is a 85mm bore, the Honda factory 85mm gasket should cover you at 85.5mm just like a stock B18 headgaskets will cover to 81.5mm. OEM Honda all the way if possible
