Next thing that is needed is a stronger case.
If you watch Leslie Durst's run, she must be running this type of a gear setup to shift like she does...even goes into 5th smoothly.
The case just does not want to stand up to alky turbo power.

i dont know, but for the money that liberty charges to pro-shift the stock gear sets,i dont see how you can go wrong.we have yet to break the liberty gear sets, just the ring and pinions, but i think changing them every 8-10 passes,we would not have any broken transmissions.ok now were not makeing 1000hp but we are making well over 700 on just turbo and gas.next year we will spray it in 3rd and 4th gears to give us that extra edge, versus going to meth.
at any rate back the tranny conversation,we like most have spent our whole first season learning new tricks, and with kenny tran helping us on the tune up
and laskey helping out with suspension and launching tips i feel that we could get a full season out of a stock trans, that has been liberty pro shifted and changing the ring every 8-10 passes,
at $300 to pro shift them you cant go wrong in my eyes.
i can shift the car at 10800 and just barely kick the clutch between gears and it falls into the next gear as iff its broke.
my 2 cents

Re: saenz performance dog engagment gear set pics (compact-tuner)
The Pro-Shifted Gear-set will help you get into gear easier, but it will still not help for the guys running 28's w\ 800-900whp and Meth. They are simply stripping the teeth off the gearsets and putting hairline cracks in everything. Nothing goes into gear better than a dog-cut gear. You basically have to slightly lift off the throttle (Or setup your EFI to mommentarily pull a few degrees of timing) and jam it into the next gear. No Clutch...woo woo.
For the price-tag, I think I would rather sell my other kidney...and buy something clutchless and air-shifted

the dog gears are not out for the b series yet just the h there still a month off. and they are going to be around $5500. they also make a gear set for $1700 that they tested in the hp civic. The gear set when shifting @ 9500rpm you should only see a 2000rpm drop. if you need more info let me know

Re: saenz performance dog engagment gear set pics (earl)
Guys, I am an engineer for a manufacturer of racing transmissions (RWD only) a couple of states north of Saenz. Currently we make Winston Cup and NHRA stuff, toploader and 5 speed. There are no company plans to get into the foreign FWD market. I would like to manufacture my own transmissions, probably would have my current employeer make the gear sets and shafts (there is none better in my opinion, and I have worked 25 years in manufacturing). I have been thinking about this for about 6 months, only when I got real positive about it, the racing season is over. I need some help in getting my feet wet with the Honda trans. Mainly, what model do most people run now, would a selection of gear ratios be desired, what motor does it need to bolt to, and is the market there for a ground up (new case and all) transmission. And, how would you like to shift it? Feedback please.

Re: saenz performance dog engagment gear set pics (trans guy)
well you d have to look at what class you would be building it for. The hotrod guys might not be able to have air shifted unit from rumors. as far as what it should bolt to I think the b series guys deffintly out number the h but I think that a universal unit would be best with custom adapter plates for individual aplications. And make custom intermediate shafts for specific motors.-pdang

Re: saenz performance dog engagment gear set pics (bambooluv)
Who said that the Saenz Boxes cost 15K, list is only 5800. And just for everyones information, these are fully forged components, shafts included, that are cryogenically treated and are full straight cut gears. The forging process adds cost to the unit but adds strength to the gear in the critical areas. I don't know of anyone else producing gears or shafts for that matter using our process. Straight cut gears have no axial thrust, which is what breaks cases. Helical cut gears have axial thrust and as far as I can determine, causes most of the case problems in the Honda factory cases.

Re: saenz performance dog engagment gear set pics (The P.I.M.P)
If 5800 is too much we also manufacture a synchro straight cut gear set that can be used with factory ring and pinion for $1975.00 and with a ring and pinion for just $3900.00 total. Also straight cut gears and forged components and cryogenic treatment. We are working on replacement synchros to go along with the units as well.

Re: saenz performance dog engagment gear set pics (dadwithgas)
on either the synchro or straight cut dog engagment sets. are the gears sold individually, in the mishap that a gear does go bad so the buyer dosent have to buy a complete set over? thanks-pdang

Re: saenz performance dog engagment gear set pics (bambooluv)
Yes the parts are also available on an individual basis for replacement purposes. With Lance(@950HP and @800 Ft. lbs. torque) we only broke Third gear, which now has a slightly stronger replacement using a different "hobber", the 1.666 ratio has gone to 1.647 with the newer version. E-mail me and I can send you the price list of available components.
