First day out of the year yesterday at Santa Pod in the UK

After my posts from last year on my previously threads the car ran 11.1 @ 125mph with a slight misfire at higher revs in 4th gear. Over winter I changed quite a lot with the car, couldn't find out what the misfire was from so decided to buy Hondata coil on plug retrofit kit. So went ahead and purchased that, fitted it along with new plugs. Got it dialled in by the tuner and he also added in 5% more boost in first gear (had -30% last year so now -25%) also changed the wheels. Last year I ran rota grid 7J at the front and back with 24.5/8.5/15 MH slicks up front and standard size road tyres at the rear, I have now got 9J rota bm8's at the front and standard vti wheels at rear with 185/65/15 road tyres which are skinnier and raise it up at the back a bit more. Also blanked the sunroof off, got a new front bumper and splitter and removed more weight. Bucket seat & harness also.

Done 15 passes last year in the 11's and couldn't get any quicker than 11.1 @ 125mph with 1.58 0-60ft times. Now the set up is different we set out yesterday

FIRST run of the day it pulled a 10.8064 @ 132.19mph - couldn't believe it, no misfire at all and soo much smoother in the rev range, it pulled through 3rd and 4th amazing.

After all day racing the car pulled 10 10 second 1/4 miles I was so impressed by how the car had done.

Best run of the day - 10.5696 @ 129.92mph 0-60ft of 1.5829

Best 0-60ft of the day was 1.5623 10.71 @ 130.19mph.

The car is running 425whp but never measured by fly as it was hub Dyno.

Fully road legal with MOT, TAX and insurance (don't worry it doesn't get driven on the road, only when taking to the garage for use of ramp)

The car has performed faultless, 11 passes yesterday and never missed a beat. Very happy with it for the first day of the year and hoping for much more fun this year.

This video below is racing against a few guys we met yesterday who are part of sneaky tuning from Holland, great bunch of guys!! This Integra is 630bhp and runs on e85, he pulled 10.59 and I pulled 10.56 although my slow reaction

Yeah not to bad considering the suspension isnt fully set up and havent got a hydraulic handbrake yet. The car is quite lightweight, i've never had it weighed but have removed the sunroof, all interior, only has the dash in.

Very surprised she pulled a 10.56 to be honest, I was hoping for a 10.999 just to break the 10 second barrier, due to all the standard bits I assumed 11secs was still good but to get it down to 10.56 is amazing, half a second off from last year.

Now I just want to break it to 10.4 now

These figures where from the first day of racing this year, still need to set the suspension up and ideally get a staging brake then I want to get them 60 foots down and hopefully pull a 10.4 would be amazing!!

awesome mate...
im keeping an eye on this from now on...

I have a similar looking ek with 421hp and have so far managed a 11.69@129mph
but its complete car full interior and shocking 1.88 60ft

Cheers buddy. Oh nice, what size drag tyres? Do you have boost by gear as it helps so much. Is that 421hp at the fly?

I run a 24.5x8x15 mt slick
I didn't use boost per gear as im on 15psi and it works well, I just seem to still bog out of the hole and im using 6500rpm launch control
it makes 314kw at wheels (so yeh 421 or 418hp at wheels)
its a built high comp engine

Same size tyres as me. What about rear tyres?

I use 185/65/15 road tyres at the rear and -30% boost in first gear it works perfect!

Rear tyre is 25x4.5x15 mt runner
I have no wheel spin issues at all with 15psi in every gear

How many passes have you done to get a 1.8 0-60ft

not too many, maybe 10passes if that
prob on the second outing and I usually do around 6passes per track day

Maybe you need more boost in 1st gear. What gearbox are you using and what gear do you burnout?

Also what PSI are you running in your tyres when they are cold
