It did NOT fit, absolutely not the right part. Do NOT use this part.

I do not know how this got perpetuated in these forums, but that is a conclusive answer.

To rehash: I had a 1991 JDM s1 tranny that developed problems (as usual) with 3rd gear engagement and it worsened with occ. diff. with other gears develop. Ordered the [very expensive} 3rd gear and synchro set from acuraautomotive and there is NO match, nor will they fit. Period.

Guess you have to learn the hard way sometimes, but I am not happy...

Dude...that sucks!!! Sorry to hear that. I nearly bought the same set after talking to you. I recently read that the D-series fit as described earlier in this thread. I am going to see if I can confirm this elsewhere before investing into this. I just can't imagine nor accept that we are stuck with fucked trannies just because we can't get ****** synchros.

sorry to resurrect this post but...

someone said that a D series synchronizer for 3rd gear will work. I have a sohc vtec trans from a 92 civic hatch and I was wondering if I needed synchro's for my B series how would i get them. I will have to jerk my tranny soon to replace the bearings and a rebuild would be nice.... thanks

only synchro post i could find!

I still need to know if a d series synchro will work in a b series engine....

and I have a JDM Hydro tranny and like most engines I am sure I can use US parts just as easily for the synchros....

any help?

we have never had trouble replacing the burnt out brass and selectors on the jdm tranys, the brass/selector kits are 250.00 canadian each.If you grind for too long you will also need the gear. Some of the gears cant be bought here, but we can make them.
$250.00 per gear,or $150.00 if you order 10 or more.Need old gear. thanx-Rob

I personally used internals from a 90 LS trans to fix my JDM B16 trans. I am not sure on the exact trans I have though. Y1, S1, YS1....

I've got a friend in Japan that owns a small tuner shop that can get the 3/4 synchro sleeve for around $150 (depending on yen rate...) I was asking about the same part due to tranny grinding between 2/3. I'll see if I can post a pic of the tranny diagram.
Let me know if you're serious about this part. I'm sorta new to the site, but I did happen to notice the scammer list that's on the classifieds forums, so I know that its been an issue. Let me know what payment method etc. would work best for both of us. If you want to contact my friend directly, I can provide a number (international Japan) or an email address. just PM me or something

We do carry good used synchros as well as new and carbon synchros for most Hondas. This includes B D and H series even F! Stick to the basics and use what belongs in the transmission. Save yourself the trial and error No worry about scams, we are a well established US California based company!! Check us out.

good idea... but now let the product and the $ talk. So if my car grinds into 3rd from 2nd and back in to 3rd from 4th if shifted quick then I need the Synchronizer

keep in mind I have a HYDRO 92 JDM spec non LSD tranny that I got with my SIR2 swap... I mean I could just buy a 99 civic SI sychro. , right? But for the sake of knowledge, what do you have to offer to remedy my problem? and how much?

On top of that does anyone know what my tranny "code" is ? for a 92 JDM b16a trans(hydro w non lsd)

Open it up and find out. You may have bad gear engagement surfaces like the gear itself as well as the Selector Hub. Best thing to do is check it out! We are getting a new shipment in the Middle of July as I have exhausted my supply within the last couple of weeks. You are looking at $100 shipped for 3rd 4th and 5th synchro rings.
