Ramey Built goes to NRG Tech for some track prep
UPDATE: Shawn went 9.43@154 today on the 3rd pass on the setup. Making some suspension and tune up changes, the car is still on moderate boost while the short times are worked on. Will have more updates tomorrow hopefully. Huge thanks to Miller.
I got a call about 2 weeks ago from Shawn telling me that (while his car is still in pieces) he wants to race IMSTAR at MIR in preperation for the Outlaw race. We get in contact with Miller to bring the car up there to have a couple things buttoned up and the car tuned. Shawn finishes the car at midnight and throws it in the trailor and heads up North, grabbing me on the way.
We arrive at NRG tech at like 11am and for the next 2 days Miller and Tom practically shut down shop to concentrate on nothing but Shawns car.
-scale and corner the car
-Set up the suspension
-Align the car
-Setup the Racepak
-Get the boost controller dialed in
-Tune the car
-Make the front end fit around the tires
-Few misc fab
-List goes on
Huge props to the guys at NRGtech for busting their asses and staying late into the night to get the car ready. Miller had a good amount of work to do to his car, but instead trying to fit it in, he packed it on the trailor and waited to do it in Maryland once the gates opened at MIR, just to make sure Shawn was ready. That shop is full of a bunch of awesome people. Reminds me how many good places there are to go in this industry.
Unfortunetly Shawn broke an axle on the first pass (without a replacement) at the IMSTAR race after a long 3 days for us in NY, but we are flying Miller out here on Friday night and going to MIR for the weekend to try and get the car dialed in. Good to have someone as flexible as him to be able to come out on such short notice. Hopefully to have some good news to post shortly after.
Here are a couple pics from the time at NRG.

Great pic shawn, lol.
Well first off I will say Shawn and the team did a great job putting the car together and hopefully this weekend we can get some shakedown passes under the belt and get it on its way.
Chassis prep and tune is very important and alot of people over look it. This is just as important as the power being made in my eyes.
No pics of the outlaw 10.5 car from friday
We have a great team here at NRG tech. Tom, Bill and I all work together to do the best we can and try to support our clients to see them do what we are here to do and that is make them go fast.

Great looking car, Wish I was a little closer to some of you guys up north. Looks like the place to be if you've got the cash to spend!
