Why do you think its a waste of time? Because that motor can take 450whp on stock internals?

For those who don't know it is a FWD SR20...not sure if it is a DET tho.

Its so sad to see that the same people posting negative stuff about this swap are the same people stating in other threads "to think outside the box." I never heard one negative thing when ERIC PLEBANI swapped a 4G63 into a porche 911 or so. but this guy is on here showing his talents and fab skills and you people put him down.Yeah he might be able to get more HP's out of swapping in a B series, but thats just it....everyone can buy all the stuff from Hasport and do a easy B-series swap.

Dude,I give you props regardless if its my taste or not. that **** still took some thought and time into this project,so you get a from me.

DARE TO BE DIFFERENT!!!!!!!

the sr20 motor can handle 550 WHP stock.

HOWEVER their trannies suck ( FWD) only put out about 300 before they shear 3rd gear.

If that is the case then why don't we see them? The block and sleeves may take them, but not the pistons and rods.

As a matter of fact, show me several doing it on a daily basis....

I was pushing 360whp for awhile and never had issues with any tranny. I only developed 5th gear popout which I quickly fixed. Once I got into the 400whp club, I went ahead and bought some insurance by buying a P11 tranny

yeah it's different and all...but, um...well, for the time/money put into getting that in the car and running...you could easily have a better b-series in there.

then when it comes time to swap axles at the track cause one broke...you sit since you have to have custom ones made, i'm sure.

that and wiring and diagosing problems would suck

pretty much...it's only worth bragging rights...which, to me, isn't worth anything.

i'd rather have an engine that's safe to rev, and a tranny that i don't have to worry about

The SR20DET won't support 550hp in stock trim, not even close. The ring lands will go before that happens. However you may get lucky and make 400hp on the stock internals but it wouldn't be reliable and if it's not reliable then why build it? There are street driven KA24DETs making 638hp and 599 ft/lbs which is higher than any SR20DET in North America that I know of at present.

A unique swap though. At least he had the ***** to attempt it and pull it off.

BTW where are these 9 second SR20s? I think Jamie F. from NJ ran low 10s in his Sentra did he run a 9?

There are several people on SR20forum making 400+whp reliably. I have been sitting on 420whp for about 6 months now and not 1 hiccup.
SR20TurboFreak on the SR20 forum was making 503whp on his stock bottom end SR20 for couple of months before his boy over revved the motor...and even at that, the pistons & rods looked immaculate.

Jaime F. ran 9s.
Andreas Miko ran 9s (back in 99')...it is still running today in Antigua
Migraņa Datsun 1200 powered SR20 ran 9.1 @ 145mph on low boost at the last FL NHRA event. It is making 525whp on low boost.

There are more people that I can't think of the top of my head...

The KA is cute...but not that cute

Nissan axles are not easily broken like Honda axles...just so you know. Not to mention the amount of TQ we produce over any other Honda engine.
