Hello. Sorry this is OT but I figured this would be the best forum for this.
I'm entering a race called the One Lap of America and I'm in the process of attempting to get a couple of sponsors. Does anyone have a copy of sponsorship proposals or packets that they give to potential sponsors?

Big sponsors seek out who they want to sponsor. Very rarely do proposals work. They do sometimes, but really big ones, the sponsor has their eye on someone already that they want to sponsor..

this is a very standard one , it would be along with as many pictures of the car and the team with there experiance and or bio. you need to say in as few words as possable what the return on investment will be for them to put cash or product in your hands....what u have done in the racing scene and where u want to do...where u have raced , won, and are planning on racing and what exposure they will gain from this.....deomgraphics of 15-40 and a very large liquid cash flow...etc.....if u need some help besides the funny stuff drop a line...ill do what i can for yah, i have done a few in the past......

I would like to offer your company the chance to sponsor an up and coming young sportsman in the field of motor racing.

The person I refer to is myself, Brad Fox, and the sport I refer to is F3 car racing. F3 racing is one of the highest recognised classes in Australia and rapidly growing. F3 is a highly advertised class and can offer great coverage Australia wide.

I have been racing go-karts in the classes of Senior National Light, Senior National Heavy and Clubman Light for the past four years,and 125cc Rotax Max Superkart for the last 12 months, however in 2003 I hope to move to F3 to further my career.

In order to achieve this I need the support and sponsorship of Australian and International companies, therefore I seek your assistance. Would you please consider the proposal for sponsorship of the 2003 season for myself. While I have aspirations of one day competing in Europe in F3 and Australian V8 supercars, I realise I have to prove myself in Australian motorsport to get myself and my sponsors recognised, before I will achieve this goal. I plan on doing this in 2003 in a national series F3 car and then moving on to bigger and better things in 2004.

F3 racing is where I hope to launch a very succesful motor sport career and after testing in a F3 car recently and proving to be very fast next season is looking to be a very promising one. If you can assist me in realising my dream, I would be most grateful.

Racing Resume - Sponsorship Proposal - F3 class info

James111 has put together a very standard proposal that I see almost everyday and beleive me that will get you a lot further than just a letter. A nice proposal is what companies look for in sponsoring vehicles. Information about yourself, your vehicle, current sponsors, events you have attended, events you will attend and any rewards or wins you may have is also very important.

Very clean nice pictures of the car are very important also.

Another very important thing is in my case since we own both DC Sports and AEM. Don't ask for a sponsorship from DC Sports if you have an Injen intake on your car. If you get my jist. A lot of companies like to either have all there product on the car or no product at all.

It also helps to know people. Go to a show and introduce yourself to them, but don't be nagging just say hello drop off your proposal and follow up with them.

In drag racing it is kinda difficult as someone has already said most people already see people who they want to sponsor and will come to them and talk to them, but it never hurts to be persistant and talk to people.
