Default NHRA Pro Fwd... no cars qualified for Topeka! what happened to this class???

I just thought I'd point out that no cars have qualified to race in Topeka for Pro Fwd...

Jason Hunt: didn't go to the vegas event
Marty Ladwig: didn't make a qualifying attempt at Englishtown
Ed Bergenholtz: Didn't go to Atco

those are the only 3 cars that have run this year... and none have made all 4 races...

I'd like to hear everyone's comments on what should be one of the 2 premiere classes for NHRA Sport Compact... right now the only classes with good comp is Pro Rwd & All Motor...

my thoughts? who cares if they didnt make it to other events.. they should be allowed to run. maybe no points for them, but definitly prize money and a trophy.

Thats what we were all saying in the beginning about this stupid rule. Nobody really has the money to hit every race.

they will make some exception and let them run and if they do it will look bad on them. Personally i don't think that they should be able to let run NHRA made the rules and they should stick by them no excecptions for ANYBODY. Yes i know it will look bad for the sport but think of all of us unsponsered little no name people who wanted to race on of these races and were denied becaues we could not travel. Just my thoughts not trying to argue over anything.

OUCH!!!!! Score one for Cloyse here. I have to agree. Rules are rules. They won't let people run with the wrong sized tires, because the rules say so, and just because everyone didn't make the cut doesn't mean that this rule should be bypassed. I'm sorry, but what's good for one is supposed to be good for all.

Yep I am unable to attend Topeka also. Car broke the crank in the Pits at Atco on Saturday and without a spare ready to go in we were unable to stage the car. Eventhough we were there, tech in, etc. Still unable to attend. Am I pissed? Sorta. But rules are rules and I just like everybody else am no exception.

Maybe next year if NHRA does such a thing they can do an invite only (sort of the way AMS Pro Mods do it) Or by points. Or hell just invite everyone and let the sport grow instead of being so restrictive with everything.

Such is life.

Bergenholtz is the only one, because they got an exception from NHRA due to Ron's wedding (that kept them from going to Atco). Gets the win, points and money and doesn't have to show.

I will see everybody in Fl

Are you serious? Got an exception? Yet, Mohler can't go and made every attempt he could to attend and race every event? Brian J. can't go cause he had problems in vegas and didn't actually stage the car? Yet, Kenny can go, even though he didn't stage the car in englishtown, but it's ok cause they were only allowed one qualifying attempt? I think Scott is right, they should stick to the rules...for everyone....

If that is the case they should let Crawford/*** run since Mike had a family emergency and was unable to attend Atco.

I am all about making exceptions when it comes to certain things, but whats fair for one should be made fair for all.

See ya there Charlie.

Well said Scott, but in my opion that is pretty shitty of NHRA on your part you were actually at the race and were going to run but this is racing and **** happens but you should not be punished cause you had problems it would be a different story if you did not show up. They should have done it by points or on an invitationa deal. Anyways good luck to you Scott.

the right way to do it should have been... Top 10 in 2004 Points get an automatic invite and/or the top 10 in 2005 points...

Now that I think about it they shouldn't let any Pro Fwd cars run not even for Exhibition... it isn't fair for the guys in other classes that would be left out... like Tony stated... Brian J., Mohler, Crawford, etc.... Rules are Rules... I have always preached that NHRA was the place to be.. now i'm not so sure

Thanks Cloyse

Been a tough year so far. Quite a steep learning curve, but I believe we are finally starting to turn the corner.

I need all the "good" luck I can get.

C-ya when I c-ya.

i would have loved for them to do the top 10 points deal i would have been able to race vegas. And if they end up doing that next year i still will probalby be out as it looks right now the only NHRA race i'll be able to race is pomona(crossing my fingers for the next vegas race) anyways I'll see ya pomona for sure. The sad part about all of this is that there has been alot of fast cars in each class that are being denied a chance to represent our sport.

This is sad If you run a pro class you should at least be at every event. Constancy, or lack of it is what stops this sport from moving ahead. Not blaming any one person but I hate seeing posts like this.
