we brought out the hotrod coupe to the world cup finals with high hopes of achieving a long term goal thats always in the back of our minds. if it was ever going to be done this was the time to do it. with the amazing track prep done by the fine team @ MIR & the chilly air temps, it was certain the be a fine weekend.
the goal : 7's @ 190
( we know Stephanie did it like 37 years ago, but it was still something we were aiming for. )
about the pass. everything was lookin fine up to the 1000ft marker, where the car darted toward the left hand lane lookin like a formula D drift mobile. Steve quickly fixed that situation by pulling the chute, which got the car aiming the right direction.
the culprit of the outa control car. a ripped/torn/cracked Nitro driveline spindle. we had this fixed with the help of Norris Prayoonto Racing & Speedfactory Racing on sunday morning. Thank you both for helping out !
Thanks to Jenny @ Tempest Racing for the fine photography

the timeslip (rt lane)

and finally...... the video's

crazy ****er.. I saw that happening from the 330 and that nut case wouldn't lift.
Then seeing it happen i thought for sure it was going to be ugly.
Luckily the "nut case" knew it was heading for that and the chute was his number 1 priority..
I would've done the same steve so no hard feelings. LOL..

First off, hell of a save! You were on a pass for sure. My jaw was on the ground on Saturday when you saved it. I'm sure you'll get that 7 sometime soon.

Fantastic job on saving the car, and yourself. Always have been a fan of your car for years! It's just amazing how you reacted as the car got out of line and responded with pulling the chute, at the right time to save everything. Hope all will be well, and also hope you get your 7 second time slip, I'm rooting for you man!

Couldn't believe you saved it, hell of a job driving! After the shock of the pass settled and I saw the 8.21@134 on the board I was completely bummed as that was for sure on a 7 second run! Keep at it, it will come!
