Re: Mazworx True Street 2011 Honda D-Series Build
I'm guessing Mazworx has done there homework and figured out this is the cheapest way to get into a d2b kit. Like others have found out, once the price tag get's above $1000.00, 99% of the people with D's say it cost to much.

I'm sorry that this doesn't fit your definition of a "true D2B kit." Or if there is such a thing. We do offer the flywheel seperate. In fact, I'll get one here and take picture of it just to make you happy.

Don't forget all the other supporting pieces that you need for the different kits. Clutch and TOB. You still need the axles and 1/2 shaft, hubs, I had new wheel bearings put in the hubs we sold you. Shifter and support rod, bushings.
I saw one kit only had what looked like one mount.
To do this kit right you need to know what your getting into.
Just noticed the first link from the goggle search, Funny,

I think this is why I like Speedfactory's kit better. Im not bashing you guys at all I think you have done a great thing here truely. But its a bit much to have to get the bell housing turned down. You just alienated alot of people that dont know how to work on transmissions. Plus the speedfactory kit you should be able to use a stock D flywheel just have to space out the starter 3/16th or use the custom made flywheel. I had a D2b as well but opted to not use a adapter plate. Was pretty simple with the mount and flywheel. But I like the competition gives the SOHC guys some options which has not always been the case. Keep up the great work fellas cant wait to see the car in action should be beast!!

I guess the ones who don't understand the concept of the machine bellhousing also don't understand the concept of alignment. Honda and other manufacturers use dowel pins to align certain components. We follow that trend because it makes engineering sense that you would want your crankshaft to align with the input shaft. We could develop the kit the way you suggested, but we do not want to make inferior parts when we know it can be made better. Plus, we have sold over 300 kits in the Nissan market with this same concept and all of them did not have a problem sending in the bellhousing. If someone is willing to build a D-series with enough power to require the B trans, then I'm sure taking a bellhousing off will be a walk in the park.

There will be some updates coming soon on the Civic, but in the mean time, we got alot of interest for the 88-91 Civic/CRX kit so we will be building one for it also.

If you build on for the EF, will it be a full mount set, or just a driver's side mount? Can you PM me a price on the mount(s)?
Thanks!
[EDIT] And Im glad someone is making something for the EF. Speed Factory doesnt see the demand... ?

While the car is off getting painted soon, here's a little description on how the D2B kit works.
You will first install supplied dowel pins into the block. This will aid in the proper alignment of the adapter and transmission.
Then you will install the adapter plate to the block and install 2 provided bolts on the right side of the plate.
Bolting of the axle bracket assembly to the block
Transmission bolted onto the plate using the factory top 2 bolts and lower right one behind the slave cylinder provided. Then all you do is bolt the supplied rear t-bracket, factory trans upper mount and provided driver side mount and drop the motor back in.

Of course all this stuff comes out long after I sold my D-series setup and the B16 transmission that was collecting dust on my garage floor.
Looks awesome.

looks good. i thought you said that there is machining done to the bell housing? this isnt needed anymore since you have an adapter plate instead?
there is enough room to fit a twin disc still?
and now you're making turbo manifold too? << that engine bayshot comment you had is a little confusing...

Yes you do still have to miill the case the plate replaces the half inch you cut of the trans. Should definitely be able to fit a twin its all underneath the same shaped bellhousing.

CG trans...so much simpler and cheaper and just as good as a stock b-series trans. only time youll need to do a d2b is if you are needing aftermarket gearsets...which there is only a handful of D's out there making enough power to need aftermarket gearsets/

And yes we will be offering a intake and turbo manifold soon.
