Luck4rmkc's track build
I decided it was time to introduce myself here in the drag racing section.
My name is Josh and my integra is the Brotato Racing FIS class 62mm car.
I have been racing my street car for quite some time. I had a fun little stock sleeve motor previously in my car that made 600whp (never ran that much power down the track). I competed in some Midwest region IFO's as much as possible.
At the end of last season I decided to go a new direction with my car and go ahead and make it a track car. I decided I would finally put a cage in the car and do away with all the creature comforts of a street car. My focus will now be on performance only.
Here is an old pic of the car from IFO STL last season
And the setup from last season
I then came upon a 3 piece front end
And caged the car
Now building a new motor
GE Sleeved
Manley TT
83mm JE Asymmetrical pistons
HX Bearings
ATI Super Damper
Stock port GSR head
Supertech valves/springs/retainers
Comp All motor cams
PTE6262SP JB
Ramhorn
Single Tial 38mm
Tial BOV
Hondata S300 version 2
Hondata CPR with k series coils
BLOX Drag coilovers
Trans
Stock GSR gear set (Heat treated by RacerSteve)
Liberty cuff
MFactory LSD
DSS 3.9s
That's all for now. I am in the process of putting the car back together now. Hope to have it running again in the next few weeks.
Dyno numbers and track times to come.
Thanks for looking!
Also big thanks to Chad @ MKC performance and Brandon @ Blueridge Motorsports

Re: Luck4rmkc's track build
Best I ever got out of it was 11.43 @ 130mph
I never made any track tune adjustments after the dyno tune and at times saw as low as 9.x:1 AFRs going down the track. I had just got the S300 up and going and started learning to make some changes at the track when I pulled the motor out of it... I would have liked to truly push that stock sleeve motor for all of its potential but I didn't want to waste any more time delaying the new build.
This time around I am determined to getting the car where it should be and throw all the excuses out the window...

Re: Luck4rmkc's track build
Ok I could use a little criticism on something if anyone can chime in...
This is my first time doing copper oring on a block.
Take a look at these pics and tell me if anything looks horribly wrong or if this will get the job done.

Cutting it a little close to make STL again this year unfortunately! That was my goal originally but I had some bad luck with head bolt threads in my GE block that took a couple weeks out of my schedule to get fixed so hopefully I will make Wichita instead

Re: Luck4rmkc's track build
I hope so Sloan!
That pic was actually taken during degreeing of the cams. The timing marks would look spot on if I rotated it a half tooth clockwise. The factory timing marks are a little wishy washy once you shave the head down .004" and after the block is step decked by GE it seems.
That position is actually where I found true TDC to be with a piston stop. It varied 6 degrees from the timing marks on the oil pump and the gears.
They are the new JE Asymmetrical pistons compression ratio is 11.5:1 and they have upgrades wrist pins as well.

Re: Luck4rmkc's track build
Made some progress last night getting the longblock all assembled for the final time. Hung the manifolds on it just so it would resemble something familiar again.
Test fitted K series coils and I think I am going to try to make a coil retention plate for them out of some scrap aluminum I have in the garage.
Few pix just because

Re: Luck4rmkc's track build
I haven't had much issue with creep yet up to 26 psi but we will see how it goes when I get to 36psi...
I'm on a T3 frame turbo so twin scroll is not an option without a complete revamp of the entire setup. Thanks for the info though I will definitely keep it in mind if I have issues with creep I will know why!
Cho - key to getting fab work done quickly. Do not pay everything up front haha just teasing bud! I know allegro has his hands full with your car!
