Just another build thread. ITR content
I figured the time has come to make a build thread.
I started with this car when i was 18 years old and did some minor work over owning it for 2 years. I then sold the car (dumbest mistake ever, learn from mistakes), and a year later bought it back in the same condition. As soon as i got the car i made a trip to the beach, and on the way home the clutch went out. I decided on redoing the whole car and thats how it all began..
Heres how it looked before i sold it about a year ago.
And before i sold it, it was boosted at one point..
This time around i decided to do things different and make more of a SFWD car with it, instead of just a "street car", since i am a little on the competitive side sometimes.
I got the engine bay repainted (whole car being resprayed to match engine bay soon)
Got the motor assembled
ran some lines..
bought some slicks and some cheap wheels that weighed in at 16lbs (15x8's)
Chase from chasebays bent some brakelines
Test fitted the slicks/wheels
As it sits as of tonight..
The motor is:
Stock Sleeve LS bottom end 81.5mm
B16 head with supertech valvetrain and stock port
Edelbrock intake mani
Skunk 2 68mm TB
Z10 girdle
and some old pistons and rods that probably wont last to long..(eagle/ weisco setup i believe)
Turbo kit is a Peakboost GT35R topmount kit.
Car is on AEM electronics and i will be headed to Mike (mrbsponge) to tune in the next couple of weeks.
HUGE thanks to ChaseBays! Chase supplied me with a lot of good parts (brakelines, fuel lines, catch can lines, mounts, and made me a sick milspec harness of course!) I would recommend everyone to him!
Thanks to Spec Clutches. They have supplied me a with a few good clutch items to help me out along the way!
Also thanks to BonB on here for coming over and helping out whenever he can.
I will have more updates soon. Hope to crank the car tomorrow night and hopefully get to tune next week.
PS sorry for the Iphone pics..

Well a little update...
Switched from the GT35R to a T3/T67 (finance issues) and sold the catch can, and even started to part the car out..hell i even had a buyer for the whole car, but he flaked out..
I let the car sit and saved some money up. I redid the exhaust, and had a custom catch can made by Morgan Performance and Fabrication ( www.mpfab.com )
Bought some S300, 15 gallons of 114 fuel, did an alignment, and loaded the trailer up and headed to Mobile, AL to TDC performance to let mrbsponge (Tampa Mike) tune the car.
One the dyno, we had a few little snags and had to leave the car down at TDC for Mike to finish it up. On pump gas at 16psi it made 410whp and i forget the torque. We made the switch to race gas and at 23psi we made 540whp and i wana say 350tq....(dont have the sheets in front of me) but we had to stop at 23psi due to water being pushed out of the radiator cap (Blown head gasket). I went and got the car and got her home and took the head off and found a very small crack in the #4 cylinder sleeve at the very top (damn stock sleeves). I kinda thought it maybe possibly just hopefully could hold together for a little bit so i put a new head gasket on and made a few test pulls on the street..it held 23psi fine 4 times 1st - 4th gear.....
I loaded the car in the trailer and headed to the track the next morning. Had a sissy launch and as i put it in 3rd gear i guess the head gasket said screw you and popped and blew the top radiator hose off and coasted the rest of the way down the track....the slip looked like this
60 - 1.80
330 - 4.76
1/8 - 7.12 @99 (i was pedalling it before this point)
1/4 - 11.42 @102
I drove the car back around no problem and shut her down and said its time for sleeves.
Just a quick update for everyone....ill update it again when i get the new bottom end together and head to the track!
heres 2 vids....same pass..just diff angles

Lets get some sleeves in that baby and get her back down here and turn the pressure up a little more!
We originally thought the motor MAY be sleeved and thats how it was told and sold to him, so I went at it with the mindset of a sleeved motor, when she started pushing coolant at 23psi i just kinda sulked and knew in the back of my mind something wasnt kosher but im sure glad we made some sick power on stock sleeves

I remember seeing your car for sale with the old turbo set-up. Glad you bought it back!!! Update us when you get the new motor sleeved!
