Interest in 15x8 wheels?
Hey I posted this in the Road Racing/Auto-X Forum, but thought there might be an interest here. Mods Please notify me if there is a problem.
On the miata forums lately there has been discussion, of toyo making a 225/45/15 RA1. Well Toyo is now going to do it, the only problem is that there are not many wheel makers out there who are making a light weight 15x8 wheel. On the miata forum they have been working on getting vendors to talk to a few manufactures. The idea would be to make 15x8 +35mm offset to run a 225/45R15. It would be dope if we could get a cheap and light 15x8, the problem is the cost would proabably be pretty high to do a small production run, but if the honda crowd was in along with the miata crowd, and some vendors wanted in on it then the cost could be justified to get a light 12# 15x8 wheel on the market. Is anyone interested in this?

Kosei K-1 wheels. 15 x 8 , These can be purchased with any bolt pattern.
Tire Rack buys them as blanks, and has them machined to fit your car.
I know a guy who has a set on his Neon with 5 x 100mm bolt pattern.
He is using Hoosier 225-45-15 tires for auto-x

The K-1 Kosei's are aroun 15lbs. We are trying to get a wheel that is just as cost effective if not more with a weight in the ballpark of around 12lbs. Price is a big consideration, and we are trying to keep that low, but in order for the price to be low we need people to show an interest in them.
