Re: IMPORT FACE-OFF: Tucson, AZ - 2/20/11
I would love to attend this race for OL but finding someone to make an IC for my car is difficult around OC county. Any recommendations?

Does anyone know if they inforce the IFO rules alot? Mainly just the exhaust rule in FIS? I know u have to have a full exhaust with a muffler but thats also true for True Street and pretty much none of those cars have mufflers.
That is the only rule that i dont comply with at the moment.

Why should i re-read it? I know what it says. Alot of places dont inforce rules to the max. Some rules mean the difference in having 5 racers or 25 racers hence why NSCRA doesnt inforce the exhaust rule in TS cars.
I asked because im wondering if anyone has ever been told they had to run FIP because they didnt have a muffler. I have an exhasut coming to the back of the car, just no muffler.

again, reread the rules. no muff rqd for fis. only requirement is no open exhaust/header. another words, turbo ok.

Maybe this is where we dont see eye to eye. Over on this side of the country. If you dont run a muffler then your exhaust is open. Or at least thats how i, myself, and everyone around me sees it. Right now my exhaust comes off my turbo 3". Comes past the motor underneath the car and extends to 4" Where a 4" pipe is bolted to the downpipe. And it goes to the rear of the vehicle and dumps right around the back tire area.
Is this ok?

Maybe you don't understand what Cliff is saying, so I'll simplify it.
If Cliff says you're ok, you're ok. Cliff calls the shots, so if he says you have to leave because you smell, you leave.

Ok, thats good to know. Ive got no problem putting an exhaust on my car. I just want to make sure that the way my car gets trailered down will fit into the rules. Only one that is within driving for me is Rockingham (still 3 hours 1 way). So i guess im good to go.
